AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET GOD
As your true Father.
AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE RESTORED
 Spiritually, personally and in your family relationships.
 Show the image of the cross. Explain that the cross was

everyone as far as possible. (Colossians 1:20)
“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you
love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a
craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements
and possessions. These are not from the Father but are from this
world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that
people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live
forever.” (1 John 2:15-17 NLT)

CONCEIVE
40 MINUTES
AIMS
 To understand why following Jesus is the best deal we
could ever make.
OBJECTIVES
 To identify the spiritual, emotional and physical blessings
we receive at the cross.
 To accept that Jesus died so that we could live to the
full.
ACTIVITY 1
TOPIC CONTENT
JESUS TOOK MY PLACE ON THE CROSS
 Just like a compassionate father, God looked for a way
to save us. He found that the only way to redeem
mankind was through His Son, Jesus Christ. God had to
make a decision: either destroy all of humanity,
condemning them for all eternity, or punish the human
race through the person of His only Son.
 ”But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was
crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought
us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are
healed” (Isaiah 53:5)
JESUS PAID THE PRICE FOR MY FREEDOM
ON THE CROSS
 Jesus once said “Very truly I tell you, everyone who
sins is a slave to sin” (John 8:34)
Through His sacrifice, Jesus opened wide the doors of the
prison of sin where the enemy had long detained us. Jesus
set us free from everything that had driven us to sin (wrong
thoughts, wrong desires, addictions, habitual sins, etc.).
JESUS TOOK THE WORST OF ME ON THE CROSS
AND GAVE ME HIS BEST IN EXCHANGE
 The moment we accept Jesus into our hearts, all the evil
we were is absorbed by the power or the cross. God
takes our rebellious and sinful nature and places it upon
the body of His Son, Jesus Christ. All the blessings of
God become ours when we give our entire lives to Him.
 Paul said: “Consequently just as one trespass resulted in
condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act
resulted in justification and life for all people” (Romans
5:18), Jesus has made us righteous before God,
carrying all our unrighteousness upon Himself in His
death.

one of the post-it notes they kept for themselves and
place the weakness on the cross. In this instance,
neither team would win a point.
 The game ends when all of the weakness are stuck on
the cross.
 If there are strength post-it note left on the cross,
everyone should decide what weaknesses these
strength could be exchange for. The teacher should write
them on their own post-it notes and exchange them with

courage, joy, etc. The other group should write down all
the weaknesses we need to leave at the cross, for
example, laziness, cowardice, sadness, etc. None of the
groups should know what the other group is writing. The
students should use all of the post-it notes they-have
been given.
 When they have finished, ask the group that wrote down
the strengths to come and stick their post-it notes all
over the cross at the front.
Once they have returned to their seats, explain the game:
 You will start to call out each letter of the alphabet.
 Those who wrote a weakness beginning with that letter
should shout the weakness out and someone from the
other team should shout out a strength that serves as an
antidote to that weakness. If there are no weaknesses
that begin with that letter, simply move on to the next.
 The person who has the post-it note with the weakness
written on it should stand up quickly find the posy-it note
that has the antidote and swap the weakness post-it note
for the strength post-it.
 If they do not find it within 15 seconds, the point goes to
the team that wrote the strengths and the teacher swaps
the weakness for the strength. If the student does find
the strength post-it note within the 15 seconds the period
will be awarded to the team that wrote down the
weaknesses.

 To make the decision to surrender everything that is part
of our old nature to God so that we can be completely
transformed.
OBJECTIVES
6|LifeClass
 Use post-it notes to label the three transparent cups or
glasses: You, Sin, and JESUS.
 Fill the glass marked You with water until it is just less

two large squares on the wall or the whiteboard. One
square for team A and the other for team B.
DEAR TEACHER,
This is the week when your students will experience
their own personal encounter with Jesus. Whether or not
you will be part of the team going on the encounter, set
aside some time today to pray for your students. You are
the one who has seen their needs, their doubts, their
struggles, their good qualities and their potential up close.
As their teacher and a person of spiritual authority in
their lives, we invite you to release blessing over them.
Rest assured that your support in prayer will make an
incredible differences in the spiritual realm and will
enable each and every student to leave the Encounter
completely transformed.
EFFECTIVE INTERCESSION
 Once you have finished the teaching section ask the
students to rejoin the teams they were in earlier.
We encourage you to consider these suggestions to help
you pray for your students effectively so that they can
receive all that God has for them on this Encounter:
 The goal is for each team to find the five confessions of

know particularly well. They have three minutes to find
out five things that they did not previously know about
the other person. When the three minutes are up ask
one or two pairs to introduce their classmate.
 Ask them to repeat the activity with the person behind
them, except this time no one can use words (spoken or
written). At the end of three minutes, ask one pair to
present their partner to the class (they will be unable to
introduce their partner as well as in the first exercise.
 Emphasize the fact that the best way to build a
friendship is by spending time together, and the way to
get to know someday is by speaking to them.

TOPIC CONTENT
Explain that the invitations they just received represent
an invitation from God and that He very much wants to
have a personal relationship with each one of them.
YOU ARE INVITED TO BE MY FRIEND
 Human being were created to live in a communion with
God and with their neighbor which is why we are able to
relate to Him and to others through friendship. A friend
can become even closer than a brother (Proverbs
18:24) and being a friend of God is one of the most
extraordinary experiences we could ever have.
 Abraham was considered a friend of God (James 2:23)
and was able to see extraordinary things during his
lifetime because of this friendship: an entire country was
given to him and his descendants as their inheritance
(Genesis 13:14); he was told about the destruction that
would come upon the city where his nephew was living
and he was able to intercede for his kin and the city
(Genesis 18:16-33); he had a son when he was one
hundred years old (Genesis 21:5); his descendants
remain today (the people of Israel); and all the nations of
the earth are blessed because of him (Jesus was born a
Jew for the salvation of the world).
 While friendship in itself is a force to be reckoned with,
God’s heart is that we would enter into such a close
relationship with Him that we would become one with
Him in Spirit. That is why Jesus came into the world. A
sinful man CANNOT enter into relationship with a holy
God. Jesus removed our sin so that we could have a
relationship with Him.
 Paul compares the relationship between Christ and the
church to the relationship between a man and his wife
(Ephesians 5:31-32). The relationship is so intimate that
they become one. “But whoever is united with the Lord
is one with Him is Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17).
YOU ARE INVITED EVERYDAY
INTRODUCTION
Discover the Secret
That Will Transform Your Life.
YOU ARE INVITED
 Introduce the subject, mentioning the importance of
spending time along with God so that we can have a
deep friendship and relationship with Jesus.
 Write the names of the students on the front of the
envelopes (one name per envelope).
 Do not forget to print the invitations in such a way that
they fit into the envelopes.
 Give each of the students the envelope with their name
on and their invitation inside.
12 | L i f e C l a s s
 Just as we spend time with a person we want to get to
know, we need to set aside a special time to be alone
with God everyday so that we can speak to Him.
 Speaking to God is as simple as speaking to a person.
We call this kind of conversation prayer. Jesus did not
teach His disciple how to preach, but He did teach them
how to pray. This helps us understand the importance of
prayer in the life of every believer (Matthew 6:5-15).
PRAYER TIPS
 The best way to start in prayer is by giving thanks and
praising God (Psalm 100:4). Thankfulness’ is the key
that opens the door into the presence of God.
 We should speak to God with sincerity and without
formalities (there is no need to use archaic language or
complicated words). The best we can do is be who we
are.
 It is important to remember that God is our Father and
that He loves us. We can therefore come to Him with
confidence.
 Divide the students into groups of four or five people
each.
 Write the following Bible verse on the board. The
students should then write them down in their notebooks.
If possible print out a template (with just the Bible
verses) and give at least one copy to each group.
 Ask the students to fill in the table with the missing
information (all His characteristics).
YOU ARE INVITED TO MY TABLE
 Our conversation with God is never unilateral. He also
wants to speak to us and He does this through the Bible.
 Share a testimony that demonstrates how God has
spoken to you through His Word. Your testimony should
be short, specific and something practical your students
should be able to relate to what you are saying.
 Emphasize the fact that the Bible is different from other
books because it is not the product of human thinking. It
was inspired by the Holy Spirit. That is why it continues
to be relevant today.

Lead the students in prayer so that they can:
 Come to know God as their best friend.
 Understand the scriptures without any problems.
 Love prayer from now on.
7 MINUTES
Divide the class into groups of between 5 and 7 students
each.
 Determine to have a devotional time every day.
Play the following game to encourage them to make a
decision:
Note: If necessary, take some extra time to pray for your
students and minister them. Be careful not to run over the
allocated time of each class.
 Place the four cardboard boxes at the front of the class.
Each box should have the flag of a country that appeals
to the students.

 Four small pieces of blank paper.
 Four small cardboard boxes of the same size.
 Slides and testimony (see extra material)
 Four flags from countries considered to be world powers.

AIMS
 To re-evaluate decisions.
OBJECTIVES
 To become aware of how important the decisions we
make are.
 To understand that there are consequences to every
decision we make in life (whether good or bad).
14 | L i f e C l a s s
 Tell the students that the government has given them a
scholarship to go and study whatever they want in any of
the countries represented by the four boxes. Each
country has a maximum of two places per group. So the
students will need to decide who will go to each of the
countries. If a lot of them want to go to the same country,
they will need to negotiate within their groups so that no
more than two of them go to each country. Give the
students 5 minutes to make their decisions.
 Once their decisions have been made, explain to them
that the boxes are also time Capsules, and that they
contain news about the travelers, 5 years after their
arrival at their destinations.
Each box should have one of these four situations in
them:
1. The offer was a scam and the travelers became
victims of human trafficking.
2. The airplane they were traveling in experienced
technical difficulties and fell from the sky, leaving no
survivors.
3. When they arrived in their new city they didn’t get
involved in a church and they started to slowly and
painfully grow cold in their faith until they became like
an unbeliever again.
4. While they were studying, they met the person of their
dreams and got married. Their time at university also
opened doors in that city for their career and their
ministry.
 Open each box and read the corresponding situations to
the class.
 Explain that every decision we make has consequences
and they are often things that are beyond our control.
Emphasize that we need to identify a way to make right
choices that will bring good consequences to our lives.
ACTIVITY 2
5 MINUTES
Read the story of the separation of Abraham and Lot
(Genesis 13:1-9).
 Explain that Lot had to make a decision: the whole land
was before him and he could choose to go wherever he
wanted. His destiny and his family’s future were in his
hands.
 Ask the students to write down one right decision and
one wrong decision they have made.
GOOD INTENTIONS ARE NOT ENOUGH
 Encourage a few of them to share the experiences with
the class.
 Explain the motivation behind the decision Lot made
(Genesis 13:10-11). He saw that the land was well
watered and fertile. He was thinking about what he
believed to be good for him and his family. However that
was not enough.

AIMS
 Read what happened to his family (Genesis 19:26-36).
 Explain that something very similar to what happened in

 To understand that we can rely on God to help us make
our decisions.
 To begin to ask God about each of our decisions.
OBJECTIVES
 To establish sound criteria according to the Word of God
so that we can make decisions in the right way.
 To understand that God has everything under control.

THE SAFE PATH
 Explain by contrast that Abraham did not make the
decision; he went where God told him to go (Genesis
13:14-17) and he and his descendants took possession
of the land forever.
 We do not know what consequences our decisions will
bring but God does! And we can trust in the fact that He
never makes mistakes (Isaiah 55:9). If we allow
ourselves to be guided by Him… we will always get to
the place we should be going.
 If you have enough time share a personal testimony that
illustrates the point. Your testimony should help the
students understand that when we seek God’s direction
in decision making, we will always end up where we
need to be.
Note: Prepare in prayer: ask the Lord to anoint the lesson

wants to bless us and prosper us in everything we do.
 To be able to receive all His blessings. We need. We
need to learn how to behave as His children to act in
accordance with the Spirit and not with the fleshly
nature. (For more information. See day 45 in the student

WHAT IS BAPTISM
 The word baptism means “immersion,” implies “being
completely submerged.”
 Immersion happens when an object is completely
submerge in water (like a submarine) or when Water is
poured onto an object (e.g. under a waterfall). In both
cases, immersion is COMPLETE. There is no part of the
object that avoids contact with the water.
JESUS WAS BAPTIZED
 Although John baptized with water for repentance. Jesus
had nothing of which to repent. He was baptized “to
fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3:15).
 Baptism is a transition between two conditions, it clearly
marks a before and after. In Jesus case it marked the
transition between His life as a carpenter and the
beginning of His ministry.
OBJECTIVES
 To identify what negative things we want to leave
behind.
 To see a visual representation of what happens
spiritually when we are baptized.

 Read Romans 6:3-6.
 Baptism is a public act by which we identify ourselves
with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection.
 Death: Going down into the waters symbolizes that we
are dying to our old self, which was part of our nature the
part of us that was rebellious and could not be renewed.
We are accepting that Jesus carried all our rebellion and
our worries on the cross and that we are now willing to
live a life that pleases and honors Him.
 Burial: We cannot start again if we continue to carry our
old habits, hang-ups and hurts. Our past remains
symbolically buried in the water all our old habits and
everything that was part of our old nature.
 Resurrection: When we come up out of the water we are
new creations who have been born into a new life: A life
free from the slavery of sin (Romans 6:6). This new life
no longer belongs to us it belongs to God (2 Corinthians
5:14-15).
 The substance of faith: Whoever is baptized must
believe with their heart that by taking this step of faith
they are dying to their old way of living and being born
into a new life. If not they will simply go down into the
water a dry sinner and come up a wet sinner!
