Definition of Author (au·thor /ˈôTHər/) - The writer of a literary work (such as a book) a famous author. (Merriam Webster Dictionary) - A writer of a book, article, or report. (Cambridge Dictionary) What does it take to become a writer? - You need to write any literary piece. What is writing? - One of the receptive macro-skills and the highest language skill an individual possessed. Different types of writing 1. Academic Writing - is writing with a clear, concise, focused, structured and backed up by evidence. Its purpose is to aid the reader's understanding. It has a formal tone and style, but it is not complex and does not require the use of long sentences and complicated vocabulary. 2. Technical Writing - a type of writing where the author is writing about a particular subject that requires direction, instruction, or explanation. This style of writing has a very different purpose and different characteristics than other writing styles such as creative writing, academic writing or business writing. 3. Expository Writing - is writing that aims to inform its reader. As we mentioned above, this includes all types of factual writing, like textbooks, news stories, technical guides, and pieces of business writing. Two things that we need to consider about writing: - Born not made. Poets and fictionist are not born in the classroom. A gift needed to be hone. - Can spring anytime everybody can become a writer. It depends upon the willingness of an individual to learn. POINTS TO REMEMBER: - Make better outputs than listening. - In writing, you don’t need for a competition towards other individual, but you need to compete for yourself. - If you write there is need for talents, but purely knowledge.
