Revolutionary War Biography Slides or Site Directions: 1. Choose an important person from the Revolutionary War era and find at least three resources to learn biographical information about the person. Every student should read at least one biography book but with the current situation it is not mandatory. Your content will be written as you see fit in whatever format you wish. Do not ask check-in questions like, “Can I use bullet points?” since it is up to you. Cite your sources using MLA citation format and Hanging Indentation, see Google Classroom links. 2. Create a slideshow using Google Slides or a website using Google Sites to include: (if you use Slides then you will need to add additional slides so you can include the necessary information) a. Home page or an equivalent slide with an introduction to your person and why the person should be remembered b. Early Life page or an equivalent slide with information about your person’s early life like birthplace, family, school, college, first job, etc. c. War Years page or an equivalent slide that describes what actions the person took that made them famous d. Later Life page or an equivalent slide that describes what happened to the person after the war and their death e. Characteristics page or an equivalent slide that lists the person’s positive and negative character traits as well as how they helped them and hurt them in life f. Sources page or an equivalent slide that includes MLA citations for your resources, can also include links g. All pages/slides must have appropriate graphic images added h. Create and insert the following into your slides/site however you see fit: (choose two “write” and two “draw”) i. Write a poem that tells a story about an important event in your person’s life ii. Write a news article reporting on an important event of your person’s life (include headline and 5 Ws) iii. Write a job posting advertising the job your person did during the Revolutionary War iv. Draw and color a portrait of your person v. Draw a political cartoon depicting your person vi. Draw a commemorative stamp honoring your person: name, portrait or scene, cost of stamp
