Differentiate literacy and Education LITERACY Literacy is defined as acquiring the ability to read, write and understand. It is entirely concerned with the art of reading and writing. TYPES OF LITERACIES MEDIA LITERACY -is the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media. FINANCIAL LITERACY CULTURAL LITERACY is the ability to understand how money works in the world: how someone manages to earn and make it, how that person manages it, how he/she invest it and how that person donates it to help others. Cultural literacy is an analogy to literacy proper. The culturally literate person is able to talk and understand others of that culture with fluency. TYPES OF LITERACIES DIGITAL LITERACY is the knowledge, skills and behaviors used in a broad rage of digital devices such as smart phones, tablets, laptops and desktop PC’s, all of which are seen network rather that computing devices. SCIENTIFIC LITERACY is the knowledge and understanding of scientific concepts and processes required for personal decision making, participation in civic and cultural affairs, and economic productivity. INFORMATION LITERACY is a set of abilities requiring individuals to “recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information.
