Laser Wobble welding machines have many advantages
over traditional welding processes:
IT is very fast: Laser Welding is much faster and more versatile than traditional welding methods.
Laser energy provides consistent energy to the weld spot. This means excellent speed, thermal
control, and seam quality. Voids and pockets are eliminated and secondary finishing is
unnecessary.
Minimal Heat Input: The laser allows the metal to be heated extremely quickly, while limiting the
risk of deformation It reduces improper alterations to components. Less heat transfer to the
surrounding metal also means less distortion at the weld seam. Also a much smaller HAZ (Heat
Affected Zones) and much less crackings just beside the weld.
It is highly accurate: They allow a localized, very fine, very clean, almost invisible welding with high
precision. The laser beam can be easily controlled to weld the tiniest of parts without damaging
them. They are particularly suitable for welding small parts, they are extremely accurate .
They have a high consistency: It delivers consistent repeatability. One weld to the next can be
virtually indistinguishable.
They guarantee great strength: Laser Wobble welders do creates very high-strength welds.
They can be adapted to a wide variety of part shapes and materials: You can use them to weld
parts with very different shapes and to make complex Joints. It makes welding together materials
that differ from each other possible.
They do not wear out: Laser welding machines operate without contact, so there is no risk of wear
and tear on the machine. There is also no need to change tools or electrodes, which is a definite

What is Wobble Laser Welding?
Standard laser welding heads are designed to focus a laser
beam to ONE required spot size, keeping the beam path
static. This configuration limits the applications due to local
overheating and too small welding spot.
On the other hand, our Wobble heads incorporate scanning
technology inside our weld head. By moving the beam with
internal optics, the focal spot is no longer static and can be
dynamically adjusted by changing the shape, amplitude and
frequency.
Wobbling helps to meet the higher requirements
Wobbling effectively increases the beam diameter
during the welding, this to increase the width of the weld
while maintaining the high efficiency of deep keyhole
welding. The increase in effective beam diameter results
in a much more stable weldingpool which reacts like a
normal welding pool. You have to treat the welding pool
indentical like you know already, but much faster.

Wobbling laser beam reduces drastic the weldding defects
Thanks to the use of the Wobbling weaving technique, it is possible to bridge gaps
that are up to 30%~50% wider than is possible using conventional laser welding
systems while retaining the same high quality or even achieving better quality. A
factor of 2-4 increase in both process parameters can be achieved compared to
conventional laser welding without Wobbling!

Lasermach paid a lot of attention to

WOBBLE-PRO+ Series = LASER RADIATION CLASS 4
This is the highest class of laser radiation and this class is very dangerous,
and viewing of even the diffuse reflection may be dangerous.
Different measures are therefore required on the customer side to ensure laser safety,
such as the appropriate training of employees, wearing special protective equipment and
setting up a separate laser safety area.
How to make my own safe Laser Welding workshop?
Specific Controls and actions to take for Class 4 Lasers
Considerations for workshop and laboratory design for class 4 lasers include:
 no normal windows, only with protective filterglass
 a warning light must be located outside of the room to indicate when the laser if firing
 key locks to prevent unauthorised and unprotected personnel from entering
 an external emergency stop for laser source with CE-conform 4 wire protection
 non-defeatable door interlock at entry door of the space (open door shuts down laser)
 Laser safety signs at entrance to lab/workshop
 an area for storing protective eyewear near the entrance
 laser beam must be positively terminated when stopping (no accidentaly start possible)
 laser work area must be free of unnecessary specular surfaces
 curtain materials (if used) must be fire resistant
 a clearly visible power cut-off switch which kills power to the laser
 other controls as necessary
Class 4 lasers like our Wobble6PRO+ are required to have:
 provision of appropriate training on safe use of equipment including maintenance
 use of eye protection where there is a potential eye hazard
 specific safety protocols including remote interlock
 beam stop or attenuator
 warning signs and labelling
 use of protective clothing
 requirement for medical examination immediately if there is a suspected injury
