Genetics Vocabulary Choice Board
Directions: Read each section carefully. Choose the correct number of activities that
you are supposed to complete.
Words: Allele, gene, mutation, dominant, recessive, homozygous, heterozygous,
development, pedigree, family tree. Mitosis, Punnett Square, and meiosis.
Section 1: CHOOSE 3
- Create a quiz using your vocabulary words. Use at least ten of the vocabulary
words in your quiz. Be sure to provide an answer key.
- Make flash cards of all of the words. You may use quizlet and take a screenshot
once you are finished.
- Choose 8 vocabulary words and draw a picture that represents what they mean.
Color your pictures.
- Choose 8 words and put the vocabulary definitions into your own words by
paraphrasing.
Section 2: CHOOSE 2
- Write a letter to a friend describing at least 8 of the vocabulary words.
- Choose 8 words and create 8 “tweets” using these words. Include at least two
hashtags per tweet. Do not actually type these on twitter. Just type or write
them in the document provided.
- Create riddles for at least 6 vocabulary words? Example: I am brown and sticky.
What am I? Answer: A Stick.
- Choose 4 words and make a “mini poster” for the words. Include pictures and
color.
Section 3: CHOOSE 1
- Create a comic strip that uses at least 8 vocabulary words.
- Write a story using at least 8 of the vocabulary words.
- Create a song that uses at least 8 of the vocabulary words.
- Write a newspaper article that includes at least 8 of the vocabulary words.
