The Process:
1) Look at the prompt and determine
what it is asking you to do
2) Read with a purpose- underline key
details that relate to the prompt, make
notes by areas that show complexity,
label literary terms.

statement

Evidence from the text
Explain how the evidence supports the
claim and how it shows the complexity.
Literary terms: Tone, (Indirect (Inferences
about characters based upon what we
know from the text) and direct (When text
tells us details about the characters)
characterization, point of view(why it is
important) / perspective, conflict
