Mr Arnold Hyde - Chief National Covid-19 Compliance Officer
The National Horseracing Authority has set protocols in place to protect all licenced persons and staff
when racing behind closed doors. All person entering the race course will be expected to follow these
protocols in order to protect themselves and others from COVID-19 infection and its possible spread. The
measures put in place will be assessed continuously and updated if necessary. The NHA Protocols and
Procedures to be followed by Persons which are permitted to enter the Racecourse, which have been
widely distributed.
All people that attended today’s race meeting were recorded as being present, with them providing their
respective names, designation and disclosed if they were clear of any COVID-19 symptoms before being
permitted entrance to the race course. Further, all persons in attendance were temperature tested and
Riders screened by the on course Medical Officer before being permitted to ride in races.

STEPITUPBABY (+J Dare) was cut into on her left hind.
UNTAMED TIGER (+G Shuping) shifted in away from the crop from the 350m.
In view of the report from the starter regarding STEPITUPBABY (+J Dare), this filly’s starting stall certificate
has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be
tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 23/01/2021 to 29/01/2021 inclusive). STEPITUPBABY
may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
Work Rider S Watson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of
the crop) in that he struck JUST SO EASY more than 12 times in the entire race. Work Rider Watson signed an
admission of guilt and is suspended for one (1) work riders race.
Work Rider M Naki was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of
the crop) in that he struck RUSSIAN KNIGHT more than 12 times in the entire race. Work Rider Watson will
be issued an admission of guilt and is suspended for one (1) work riders race.
TINSELTRIP (+M Sambu) raced detached from the field.

and rolled in sharply when bumped by FINLEY HILL (*J Mphanya). Thereafter, leaving the 200m, AT THE
OPERA (S Naidoo) and MIO GRANDE (K Steyn) where carried in and made contact when awkwardly
placed on the inside of CITY DANCER (E Webber) which continued to hang in and shifted in. Jockey E
Webber signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he failed to ensure that he did
not cause interference to AT THE OPERA and MIO GRANDE at approximately the 300m whilst riding CITY
