“Born a Filipino” I am a Filipino, bearer of the knowledge passed down by my ancestors and the responsibilities to provide for my heritage. Both my parents are pure Filipino as, I was born in this country with lots of magnificent places to see. As a Filipino we are well known for being hospitable, as we welcome many foreigners coming all around the world. As we looked at the history of my country, this characteristic has been passed down by older generation of Filipino’s. We Filipino’s also practice “po” and “opo” also lastly “pag-mamano” as a sign of courtesy and respect for our fellow elderly Filipino’s. Filipino’s also embodies the eastern aspect of family culture. Example here in the my country if you’re an adult you can live with your parents as long as you want and it is accepted here if you’re a Filipino family. Unlike in any western country when you reached adulthood you need to create your own way of living and living with parents is not that widely encourage there. We Filipino’s are also known for our work ethic as represented by our “kayumanggi” skin color which is envied by many foreigners, it is also a symbol of being industrious and passion for our work. I am so proud to have these qualities as a fellow Filipino as I experience the freedom that my heroes provided for my country through hardships in the hands of foreigners that enslave my country. I will fulfill my responsibility to my obligations as a good and wise fellow Filipino for the future of my country.
