NAME. GYABENG EVANS INDEX NUMBER WACE/JHS/18/0201 TOPIC Developing selected Teaching and Learning Materials to enhance the understanding of the concept warnings and safety signs among Nyetina M/A JHS one pupils in integrated science CHAPTER FIVE SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS This chapter comprises the summary, conclusion and recommendation for future improvement of the project. Summary From the background of the study the researcher identified a problem to which he posed questions which guided him for the studies. In the literature review, the researcher looks at the work of some authorities. The objectives and the research questions were taken into consideration. Also, issues on the teaching and learning materials and activities on teaching techniques were addressed. In methodology, action research design was used. Research instruments such as observation, interview and test were used to ascertain facts. The population for the research comprised twenty-five (25) pupils in basic seven of Nyetina. M/A. J.H.S. Pre-test was conducted and the post-test after the intervention. Furthermore, there was a description of data obtained from the various instruments and findings were analyzed. Finally, the outcomes of the research findings, suggestions and recommendations were made to help solve similar problem in future. Conclusions Under this sub-topic, the researcher compared his findings with those identified in the literature to find out those findings which conform and those that contrast with this. It is true that teaching and learning materials make learners understand a lesson as said by the authorities. This was clear when the researcher used the teaching and learning materials to teach and assess the learners. The learner’s performance shows that the teaching and learning materials helped them to understand the lesson better. The appropriate teaching methods and activities were used to sustain learners’ interest and made them attentive as the authorities said. As the researcher employed this method and teaching techniques during the course of teaching the lesson, learners were able to participate fully in the lesson delivery and hence, there was a better understanding of the lesson and there was an improved performance. Recommendations The findings of the researcher could be used to achieve positive result in the areas of identifying and interpreting warning and safety signs. This can be done by encouraging the pupils to keep on practicing the skill gained and also to help other colleagues who are facing difficulties in identifying and interpreting safety and warning signs.
