DISCOVERY OF OIL Introduction The UAE's rich history is established in exchange and attached to Islam, which went to the district in AD 630. The Emirates' area among Europe and the Far East pulled in vendors from India and China and was prized by Europeans, especially the Portuguese, Dutch and British. While Europeans looked for control of the coasts, inland, the Bedouin made the sandy deserts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai their home. The town of Abu Dhabi turned into a significant focus. In the nineteenth century, the British consented to a progression of arrangements with individual Emirates that brought about a region known as "The Trucial States." The Emirates made a deal to avoid surrendering any domain but to the United Kingdom and to forgo commitment with any outside government other than the United Kingdom without earlier assent from the British. Consequently, the British guaranteed to shield the coast from all hostility via ocean and to give help with the occasion of an assault via land (Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, 2019). New Beginnings In 1930's, the leader of Abu Dhabi around then; Sheik Shakhbut Bin Sultan Nayan convinced his concept of finding a legitimate water supply in Abu Dhabi and accordingly Brackish water was found in Shallow pits. Later, the Sheik's enthusiasm on water turned towards oil and he allowed oil concession with the Iraq Petroleum Company (Barnes, 2016). The oil story began on January 5, 1936, when William Haji Williamson of the Iraq Oil Company got the right to oil exploration for two years in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for a payment of 7,000 rupees, plus 3,000 rupees a month (about 27,000 pounds) And the Iraq Oil Company has established a subsidiary company called the Petroleum Development Company (the Reconciled Coast), which will 1|Page oversee what will prove to be a frustrating and slow exploration across the region. later, Abu Dhabi Marine Academy (ADMA) was created and got a maritime lien. ADMA has brought in the famous French explorer Jacques Cousteau and his research vessel Calpeso to develop a geological map of the seabed. In 1958 ADMA began drilling at Umm Al-Shef field using a sea drilling platform. The oil was reached at a depth of about 8755 feet, but the production did not start in the giant field of about 300 square kilometers except in 1962. In 1959, Petroli (the reclaimed coast) is a land-based well in Marban No. 3, now known as Marban Bab, a vast area of 450 square kilometers. Oil in Dubai The oil was discovered in Dubai in the maritime area in 1966 in the field of Fateh, located 60 miles from the shores of the emirate; to start Dubai in the same year exports from this field, and after almost a year resulted in the discovery of a new oil well located southwest of the field AlFateh. Production operations started from the new well in 1972. The Falah field was discovered in 1972, and the production operations began there. In 1973, a new oil well was discovered in the Emirate of Dubai. Oil in Ajman The Emirate of Ajman began exploration for oil in 1975 in cooperation with the US company United Refining, which preferred to relinquish the franchise rights to a number of other companies, including: Asamera, and Foreman, which obtained the concession of exploration for oil in the marine areas of the Emirate, in what After the concession rights, whether in marine or land areas in full to Ajman National Petroleum Company, which is doing exploration work in the emirate. Oil in Umm al-Qaiwain Oil exploration in Umm al-Qaiwain has two companies: 2|Page the US-based Houston-based drilling company, and the United Marine Drilling Company, the United States. In 1983, the emirate's government distributed oil exploration concessions in the emirate to several companies: Deutsche Texaco, Exxon, Tennico and Linden Group, and exploration and exploration for oil and gas continued without any results so far. Process Abu Dhabi has gained a global reputation as one of the world's leading oil producers. In 1971, the agreement signed by six Gulf oil producers in Tehran and Western oil companies resulted in Abu Dhabi receiving about £40 million in revenue, according to official sources in the Oil and Industry Affairs Department. In March 1973, Sheikh Khalifa, then Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, visited the first fuel depot delivered by the British Petroleum Company to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) as part of a program to include oil distribution in a network across the country. In October of the same year, the Crown Prince issued a decree establishing the National Petroleum Construction Company in Abu Dhabi with a capital of AED 30 million. Sheikh Khalifa formally inaugurated the oil fair held by ADNOC and ADMA in October 1975, following which it was announced that Abu Dhabi had exported two billion barrels of oil from Jebel Dhanna until then. Under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed as President of the UAE, the Union has undergone tremendous changes in a short period of time, and citizens have received the highest standards of service that have guaranteed them happiness, prosperity and security in the future. Which is the same vision adopted by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates back then. Today Abu Dhabi has about 98.2 billion barrels of oil reserves and plans to increase its oil production by 2018 to more than 3.5 million barrels per day. The country's 3|Page consumption of oil is estimated at 509,000 barrels per day, while consuming about 56 billion cubic meters of gas. The country has developed a strategy to reduce oil dependence on its GDP, which is expected to reach $ 11.9 billion (Muhaisen, 2015). Conclusion The discovery of oil in the Gulf region has been a major turning point in its history. Contrary to what many of the new generation believed did not contemplate the shift that took place, the major shift in the UAE was not simple and poverty-free and modern. The vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, was the engine of the establishment of the state and the declaration of the Union, to be the beginning of the civilizational shift.
