From David Kaplan...large (approx 13" tall X 6 3/4" wide) it's Tevye the Milkman from Fiddler On The Roof. Tevye, the eternal optimist stands by his milk can as he dances to the song: To Life. Loaded with details! The places it looks smudged are simply details of the hard life he lead--and they belong there. There is a notch out of his small finger-see picture-I'm not sure if it belongs there or is a small chip-it looks like something Tevye could have acquired while making his deliveries.
