WEEK 44: OBEDIENCE
• Obedience is doing as instructed.
• We are commanded to be obedient to God in
every way. He knows the better way of
things, so it makes sense to obey Him.
• Obedience is an ingredient of our faith no
matter what circumstance we are in.
Obedience speaks of how we entrust to God
our lives because He is more than our
protector and guide.
• Disobedience on the other hand, will always
yield disagreement and eventually put a
wedge in any human relationship

• A subordinate who disobeys the authority
is sure to be reprimanded on the first
offense.
• In a more profound sense, however, an act
f disobedience is a result of an intention to
cause disorder in a system of order.
• Disobedience therefore is more of an
internal problem rather than anything
external.
• A sinful life will always disobey God and
that no other sacrifice will blot this
sinfulness but that which the Lord our God
has shown by the power of the cross of
Christ,

• Whether we are a family member,
church worker, a government
employee, a corporate person, or
whatever it is that any on of us is doing;
disobedience will always cause
problems.
• A specific character named Jonah of
Nineveh brought all the consequences of
his disobedience wherever he went.
Consequently, when he obeyed the
command of the Lord, all the perils that
accompanied him ceased.

• The Commandment tells us to
obey our parents for this is the
right thing to do and this
pleases the Lord.
• The parents mentioned here
are those who exercise
authority over us and lead us
in the way of righteousness
and truth.
• Those above us who toil for
our welfare in both physical
and spiritual-those who pray
for us, who love us, who train
us, and who seeks the best for
us.

• Obedience carries with it blessings, but it should not be
mistaken from being an accomplice or accessory to any crime
or illegal acts.
• When we are ordered to perform an illegal act and we obeyed,
this is not obedience but conformity to the desires of the
enemy.
• Obedience is following God’s commandments and His
precepts .
• When orders are aligned to righteousness, justice and truth,
blessings follow our obedience.
• Deuteronomy 20 of the Holy Scriptures point to us the
promises if we fully obey and heed to all His commands. Read
it and obey, and unfold the blessings God is ready to release
through your obedience.

• Reflect on the Ten Commandments and the Two Great Commandments
of God. How many of them have we followed wholeheartedly? Take
note of the weakest point and assess yourself what is causing you not to
obey
• Starting this week, consciously obey the rules and regulations set by
your agency and your school. Do this out of love for your agency/school
and not just by compulsion.
• Resolve to follow the lawful orders and instructions given by those
above you, and resolve to stand for what is upright if you are asked to do
tings that will taint your name or affect your integrity and credibility.

Make a conscious effort in

for God and for His glory.

We are obedient servants of God
We recognize the necessity to
obey those we know are
concerned about our welfare.
From this day forth, we shall not
be lax.
We shall trust where the Lord is
leading us.
We shall demonstrate obedience
among our friends, peers, and
colleagues to inspire them to
obey righteous orders.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, teach us to obey you above
others.
Forgive us for our disobedience.
Give us the grace to obey the lawful orders
and commands of the authorities you have
placed over our lives.
Allow them to heed Your call, submit to and
obey You so that we could fully obey them.
You know where You are leading us and we
again entrust to You our lives.
Give us grace not to postpone our
obedience, but instead be quick in following
You and Your Word. Amen.
