It is quite alarming to see how most of students nowadays are dependent to the
use of social networking sites. According to the survey that the researchers made,
there are 75.8% of students who uses social media to become more sociable, thus 88.7%
says they use social media to keep in touch with their relatives. It is very evident that
this part of modern age technology is something that we are now starting to depend on.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic happen, it has become easier to adopt to
virtual learning classroom. Though at first, some professor specially those who do not
really depend themselves to these technological innovations, it becomes really hard
for them to cope. Also, students find it hard to adjust since not everyone has a
conducive place in their home, also the delineation between school and rest became in
one and this starts to take a toll in their mental health.
The survey results shows that all of the students are now depending to social
networking sites to continue their studies. For some they may find it advantageous in
their part; and for others it is detrimental specially for their mental health. Social
Networking Site and Technology is there and this something that you cannot turn
back. It is either you control it or let it control you.
