1) Description
This Foreign Languages Communication Policy sets out the guidelines for effective
communication between ----- English-speaking staff and foreign language-speaking workers.
-------------- is committed to the accuracy and quality of construction task information to its
internal employees. All communications between English-speaking staff and the foreign
language-speaking workforce shall be aimed towards the achievement of --------- safety vision
and approved standards. It shall ensure compliance with the UK Health and Safety laws
including legislations, regulations and acts.

3) Definitions
For purpose of this Policy, the following definitions apply:
a) “Authorized Person/s” are

Foreign Language Focal Point – The person who shall communicate at
site level with foreign language-speaking staff.
Other individuals specifically approved by the MD/CEO from time to time
for specific kinds of communications on behalf of the Company (-------------- & -------------France).
4) Guiding Principles
------------ recognise that active communication in different languages maybe required. To reach
our overall goals and obligations for foreign language communication, the following guiding
principles should always be adhered to:
a)
Only ------------- Authorized Persons shall be permitted to have formal
engagements with foreign language-speaking workers.
b)

c)
Principal contractor staff are NOT permitted to give instruction to ---------language-speaking staff and communicate to the ----------Authorized
Persons who shall decide what to instruct to the foreign languagespeaking worker on behalf ----------

Requests for information by the Principal Contractor or others shall be
directed to the appropriate ------------- Authorized Person.
e)
All information or instruction given to foreign language-speaking workers
shall be accurate, transparent, open and recorded to protect -------------comply with Health and Safety Legislation.
f)
No external bodies such as tools, materials suppliers or other contractors
shall be permitted to approach ---------- foreign language-speaking staff
without pre-approval by the relevant ---------- Authorized Person. All
information or communication of work nature must be documented in the
----------- foreign language-speaking Staff folder. Folder Number 24.1.
g)
All communication must be clear, concise and intentional.

Regular feedback is encouraged from all ------------------ foreign languagespeaking staff and will be applied towards ensuring continued aims of
improvement and better delivery of communication.

crucial to its long-term success and are therefore always desired. All communication to foreign
language-speaking staff should be anchored on this premise and aimed at making them feel
involved and not alienated.
All Foreign language-speaking staff external communication must be approved by --------------Managing Director.
6) Public Statements of Personal Opinion
