BACKGROUND:
You are an employee of Hawthorne Food Company. You work in their advertising department. You have recently been assigned to the company’s new project
of promoting geographic and historical cereals. You will be developing a cereal
box for one of the four ancient civilizations of Latin America.
(Maya, Aztec, Chibcha, or Incas)
TASK:
Create a cereal that reflects the culture of one ancient
group in Latin America.
AUDIENCE:
You are trying to “sell” your product to young
children eager to learn about far away places.
MATERIALS:
Empty cereal box, planning guide,
research, markers, colored paper,
construction paper, scissors, colored
pencils, crayons, etc.
PROCEDURES
1. Decide which ancient people group you will use as your inspiration.
2. Follow the planning guide on the back of this paper to create the panels for
your cereal box. Make sure you cut the panels to the shape of your box. Remember in the advertising industry, appearance is what sells!
3. After your panels are neat, accurate, and colorful you may carefully glue them
to your box.
4. Submit on or before the due date. In advertising, the early bird catches the
worm!! Late work is not acceptable! Your paycheck (grade) will depend on it!
