Biogeochemical Cycle WebQuest & Roundhouse Diagram
Over the past 2 weeks we have looked at abiotic factors in the environment. One of the most
important abiotic factors is the cycling of key elements such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen,
and phosphorus. You already have a basic understanding of each of biogeochemical cycles from our
class discussions, but I want you to become an expert in one of them. In this assignment you will
look to become an expert in one of the following biogeochemical cycles (carbon, nitrogen, or
phosphorus). To demonstrate your expertise, you must create a roundhouse diagram representing
the various stages of your cycle. To help you with this task you must first complete a WebQuest of
your biogeological cycle. Once your research is complete you can begin creating a roundhouse
diagram representing the cycle you chose. Begin your diagram with the reservoir of materials in the
12 o’clock position. Be sure to label each step with key terms and place the name of your cycle in the
center of the roundhouse diagram. Have fun and be creative
Tasks to be completed:
* Step 1 - Obtain the Biogeochemical Cycles Interactive WebQuest Student Handout.
* Step 2 - Conduct research by completing the task within your chosen cycle WebQuest handout
* Step 3 - Synthesis your knowledge by Creating your roundhouse diagram
* Step 4 - Presentation?
