The Electricity Consumption Project BEE Project 01 Anuj Bhalothia CS37 02 Group Members 03 Apurva Rathore CS42 Ayushi Joshi CS60 04 Bhavya Bansal CS63 A PPT on electricity consumption for BEE project. Overview of the Project An electricity bill can be used as a focal point for introducing the concept of energy at the elementary school level. The Watt (W) is a unit of electrical power, which is the rate at which we use energy. We pay the electricity company for the use of energy. A killowatt (kW) is equal to 1000 watts. A watt-hour (Wh) and a kilowatt-hour (kWh) are units of energy, where 1000Wh = 1 kWh Calculation Electrical Appliance Power Rating (watts) Quantity Time (hrs) Tubelight 36 2 bg Ceiling Fan 75 2 Cooler 250 1 Mobile Charger 30 3 Laptop Charger 170 2 Power Consumed (kWh) COST EQUATION The cost for each unit of energy is measured in Rupees(Indian) per kWh. The typical cost per unit of energy is Rs.9/kWh. The equation used for determination of the cost of our energy use: Cost of energy = Energy used x Cost per unit of energy COST PER DAY Cost per day = 7.722 kWh * 9 Rs./kWh = Rs. 69.498 MONTHLY COST Monthly cost = 69.498 * 30 = Rs. 2,084.94
