Samantha B. Sagarbarria VII- Serion 1. What are the types of Microscopes? The types of Microscopes are the light microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), dissection microscope, and compound microscope. The light microscope uses light to examine the specimen, the scanning electron microscope (SEM) uses beams of electrons to view the specimen, and the transmission electron microscope (SEM) also uses beams of electrons and electromagnets to view the specimen. A dissection microscope is used for dissection to get a better look at the specimen. Compound microscope the image seen with this type of microscope is two-dimensional. They have high magnification however, have low resolution. 2. What is the difference between resolution and magnification? Magnification is the ability to make the images of small objects bigger up to a certain number of times than their actual sizes, on the other hand, resolution is the ability to distinguish between parts of a certain object.
