CAPITA ACTUARIAL – GI - JOB DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE ROLE At Capita Actuarial, we provide trusted and flexible actuarial support to our clients across the GI industry. We support leading companies across the UK, offering actuarial solutions in all disciplines of actuarial work, from Reserving, Pricing and/or Risk and Capital projects across the London/Lloyd's market and/or the Personal & Commercial lines market, to the most modern project work, including Solvency II and IFRS17 as well as multidisciplinary projects around areas such as transactions, change management, organisational transformation, cost reduction and start-ups. You will be working directly with a client team, either on-site or remotely, liaising and working closely with them to deliver actuarial solutions. The nature of our work means no two projects are ever alike. Our team are exposed to a wide aspect of actuarial specialties, whilst also engaging with key stakeholders at some of the largest insurance companies in the country. You’ll regularly be joining new teams, working in different roles, so you will look forward to meeting new people and quickly getting up to speed with how you can deliver and create better outcomes for our clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, contribute to and oversee actuarial projects and deliverables Delight clients by delivering high quality actuarial work Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems Work closely with key stakeholders at the client, keeping them informed of progress Design, propose and implement solutions, understanding the impact to the business Seek out further opportunities for work with clients Plan and prioritise deliverables and resources for projects Coach and mentor other team members Able to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality relationships. Manage all stakeholders appropriately and professionally Champion and promote Capita Actuarial Solutions through upholding code of ethics and business conduct CANDIDATES WILL HAVE: A minimum of 3 years’ experience of actuarial work in the GI industry Exposure to multiple areas of actuarial work (pricing, reserving, capital, risk) and an understanding of your roles in the context of a wider organisation Claims reserving under different accounting bases Development or review of Solvency II technical provisions Review or validation of Solvency II internal models and/or standard formula Building and developing capital models (at least two commonly modelled risk types) Actuarial support for implementation of IFRS 17 Be a problem solver; tailoring what you have learnt from your experiences to date to different client problems to help design and implement the solution.
