WHAT IMPACT MEDIA HAS IN YOUR LIFE? So first of all, let me introduce myself, my name is RAVALISOA Sandratra Niavo Hasina. I am a student and I am in my third year now at The University of Mascareignes in Marketing. Before the age of fourteen, media has been had impact in my life via the TV and movies but at these times I did not really about the news. When I was little, my mother always told me that staring at the television all day would be bad for my eyes. At the time, I wondered why my parents spent so much time in front of the television, too. I had no idea what they were doing. I now realize that they were watching movies and television shows, but also news stories and documentaries. Television and movies are an important form of entertainment and education. Through these media, people get to know about different cultures and other countries. People also learn about things that interest them and about many different issues. This is especially important to children, because they mostly learn from people and not from reading or from experiences. In the age of the internet, people now spend less time watching television and instead, spend more time reading the internet. Because of the internet, the development of the world has changed. Before the internet, I learned all that I know about the world through television and movies. The internet now provides many opportunities that we were not able to have before. The internet provides a platform for people to share and learn different things, and it allows people to share their ideas and thoughts with the rest of the world. People are now able to express what they really think and are now able to share their thoughts with others. This is one of the reasons why the internet has become so important. The internet has become the most powerful communication tool in the world. It is now the platform for everything that is happening in the world and we all now share things over the internet. The internet has become the source of information for people, and it has become the most powerful tool for communication, especially for communication in the world of business, politics, and science. In the coming years, the internet will continue to bring us more and more new things that we may not even know about. The internet has also changed the way we work in a way that we may not be able to anticipate. 1- Harnessing the positives of social media and technology: Social media and technology have a positive impact on my life. I feel more connected with people all over the world. I am more informed and have a wider understanding of different cultures and how they live. Research and information: I can get information about anything in the world by just searching a few words. I can be updated with any news instantly. I can have a bigger connection with other people and be more active in socializing. Independent: I am more independent thanks to the internet. It has changed the way I live my life. I can always receive information and knowledge at any time. Social media is a powerful platform which can be used for education. People can watch videos, listen to music and find great resources to improve their knowledge on certain topics. Social media is a positive learning experience. Interactivity: I feel like I am in an interactive environment where I can exchange ideas with people from all over the world. I can learn from them, and my knowledge has increased. I can express my thoughts, opinions, and creativity. Social media can be a great learning platform which can be beneficial for students. 2- The Negative Impact of social media in my life It gives me a poor body image as a consequence of social comparison on many others good looking guys. It makes me feel like I am not enough. Lack of face-to-face interaction, leading to poor social skills and less satisfying real-life relationships. Fewer hours of sleep due to social media and other tech use, and the media has negative impact on my body image. I have been working out and eating healthier in order to improve my body image. Sometimes, I feel self-conscious about my body, especially my belly and thighs. I feel people are looking at me and judging me based on how I look. The media also impacts my relationship with my parents. Many people have told me that I look fat, or that I need to lose weight. I try to ignore these comments. It is a big struggle. I feel I am constantly being reminded that I need to lose weight and people are judging me for my body. Decreased time outdoors as a result of increased screen time. It\'s become hard to avoid watching television, playing video games or surfing the web at home. As a result of this, I don\'t have as much time with friends as I used to. I wish I could make more time for them, but I am trying to manage being busy with my friends. I know that this is a result of me spending too much time in front of a computer or watching TV.
