Tips for Updating the Talent Plan (Current) section:
4. First, check the Talent Plan History section to review entries from past cycles. Take note of the types of career experiences documented as well as the level
of readiness to act on those career experiences. If there are no entries in the Talent Plan History section, no further review is needed.
5. To determine the entry you will make on the Talent Plan (Current) section, review the last entry from the Talent Plan History section. If you were the
manager that documented that career experience and it has not yet been enacted, you will need to provide an update on that career experience in the Talent
Plan (Current) section. In this example, the manager will need to give an update on the Promotion career experience planned for this employee in 2014.
6. To provide a current update on the last entry in the Talent Plan History section, re-enter the career experience you were planning in the Talent Plan
(Current) section. Choose from the drop down menu for each field in this section. Make sure to capture any changes in the timing of that career experience in
the Current Status – Readiness to Act on Career Experience field. Describe your update in the Comments section. In this example, this manager updated
the readiness to act on career experience to show that the promotion activity was on track to happen this year.
7. If the last entry in the Talent Plan History section is no longer applicable and you would like to select a new career experience for the current year, select the
appropriate option from the Planned Career Experience drop down. Use the Comments section to document the reason for the change and how the new
career experience supports that employee’s career growth and preparation for future roles. In this example, the manager chose not to update the promotion
career experience but instead document a new plan for the employee, a Special Project / Assignment.
