Alcohol is a drug that is mostly abused the youths. Nowadays, many youths are experiencing the problem of drinking too much. There are high cases of the adolescents suffering from alcohol related ailments such as liver cirrhosis (Lohr, 2019). Those adolescents involved in drinking alcohol some have been found to have genuine reasons for taking alcohol while others do not. Recently, the cases of unemployment in many nations are high, most of the youths find themselves jobless thereby engaging in taking alcohol (Holder et al., 2019). In this stage, the adolescents encounter many changes in physical, emotional and lifestyle. The developmental transition, like that of puberty, is also linked to alcohol use. Many adolescents think that taking alcohol is a form of pleasure. According to research, the brain of adolescents keep on developing, this development is associated with funny behaviors such as those of taking alcohol and easily getting influenced by others (World Health Organization, 2019). . In reducing this problem, conducting seminars’ for the adolescents that explain to them effects of alcohol and how to avoid it can help. Enforcing strict laws that penalize those who sale alcohol for them can also reduce the rate of alcohol intake. Finally, the adolescents need to be engaged in jobs, making them busy to avoid idling which nececiates drinking alcohol. To conclude, it is fact that the rate of drinking alcohol is high among the adolescents. Many of them may fail to understand the effects of alcohol that eventually result in the old age.
