It involves the following attributes: Length, volume, weight. Selecting a unit of measurement. Compare the attribute of the object to the unit of measure. The units of measurement used in ancient times were chosen for convenience rather than accuracy. They commonly used parts of their human body. ANCIENT EGYPTIAN UNITS A span is the distance from the tip of the little finger to the tip of the thumb of an outstretched hand. A cubit is the distance from the top of the middle finger of the outstretched hand to the front of the elbow. A foot is the length of a foot A cubit is the distance from the top of the middle finger of the outstretched hand to the front of the elbow. A digit is the thickness or width of the index finger A palm is the distance across the base of the four fingers that form the palm. The Metric System Uses Greek and Latin prefixes to make conversion from one unit to another easier. A prefix is a power of ten exponent or multiplier that precedes unit.
