What is it
A. Fact and Figure or Statistics
1. Philstar is our country’s leading and most recognized digital brands of journalism. You
can look for a broad range of content, it could be social, political, business, sports,
entertainment or lifestyle news.
2. Rodrigo Duterte, The president, declared an enhanced community quarantine over the
entire Luzon including Metro Manila as way to contain/control the spread of the
coronavirus disease.
3. Yes, the number of people who are affected by COVID-19 are increasing rapidly so it is
good that President Rodrigo Duterte declared an enhanced community quarantine to
decrease or to control the spread of the virus.
B. Expert’s opinion
1.
Bloomberg is the source and Sebastian then Daniel Moss is the one who will be giving
his opinion about the said topic on the article.

It’s an opinion because it can either be right or wrong about the statement of Sebastian
and Daniel Moss. The statement is about how COVID-19 pandemic will test our nation’s
economic aspirations and there’s no right or wrong in it.

Indeed, Daniel Moss is a Bloomberg Opinion Columnist, so I think he’s an expert to this
kind of matters. And I think he’s opinion about us and the thing we called Filipino
Resiliency. Daniel Moss is an opinion columnist in Bloomberg, he writes a newspaper or
magazine column.
C. Personal anecdote: Stella Young (comedian with a disability)
1. The word “I” indicates that the story is personal in nature.
2. The author shows negative mood by looking at this part of the story “What the hell, I
could be the worst house on the best street”, and I “joined” the popular group.” She
experienced a lot of bad things in her life and instead of saying it out loud she endured
it alone.
Why is max upset?
Based on the story. Max got upset because he cannot play outisde. He wanted to play with his kite
but because of weather he can’t play with it.
What does mom plan to do today?
His mom’s plans are going to a picnic, based from the story. When her son begins to sob, she tried
comforting Max by giving him a sandwich. After that, Max snapped and said “I don’t wanna sandmich!”.

1.What makes today a special day?
-Valentine’s Day
-Today is Valentine’s Day and since the kids are making cardboard mailboxes which allows them to
receive mails from their classmates. These mailboxes work as a receiver or a storage of mails for the
children, which makes sense since it valentine’s day many children tries to write for their crush,
some are obligatory mails, just like what Bartleby did.
2.Which boy does Veronica like?
-Johnny
-Veronica blushed and played with her hair after receiving a letter from Johnny. And based from I
conclude that Veronica has a crush on Johnny since she’s acting awkward and blushing when Johnny
is around.
3. Do you think Bartleby intended to run without giving his letter to Veronica? Why or why not
-No, Bartleby tried his best to fit the letter in her mailbox but it won’t fit. Thus, out of
embarassment, Bartleby ran.
-As the text said “Bartleby struggled with it for a few seconds and then ran off with the envelope” he
did not intent to run he but as the situation gets awkward and awkward maybe Bartleby got more
embarrassed than he is. To put it simply, Bartleby was getting shy just by giving Veronica a letter
then he got more shy because the letter he’s giving to Veronica can’t fit in her mailbox.

Statement of Fact: The world currently suffers from a highly contagious and deadly virus named
COVID-19.
- The statement includes events that are verified by an article and it is true/fact because facts are
statements that can be verified.
Statement of Convention: Such misbehaviors include complaints about shortage of food and other
necessities that create negative response or behavior among those who are affected; fake news
easily spreading everywhere with the use of social media, discrimination of front-liners especially
those in the medical field who risk their lives to save others, gambling and other activities that
involve crowds to gather and as a result violate the social distancing policy, stubbornness of some
individuals and government officials who do not follow ethical standards in giving out government
financial aid, unsupportive citizens who continue to defy government policies; etc.
-I chose this to be my statement to be my statement of convention because there are situation that
are in the statement that are verified by a rule.
Statement of Opinion: Without the practice of good discipline, our nation will be doomed but with it
coupled with a huge amount of prayers, many will be saved and be spared from this pandemic.
- It is an opinion of an individual it’s just a thought that may help others. It can either be right or
wrong.
Statement of Preference: On one hand, the government is planning and implementing actions to
serve its people and so these people are expected to be more responsible and stay in their houses
and refrain from leaving unless it is for essential travel like going to work and buying food and other
necessities.
- The statement is giving people’s preferred choice by giving them the choice to stay indoors as long
as possible which in this case they prefer us to stay indoors for us to be safe.
