WORK EXPERIENCE:
1St April,2013 – Present:
Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Kumasi-Ghana.
The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is strategically positioned in the middle belt of Ghana which
serves about thirteen (13) out of sixteen (16) Regions in the country. It is a teaching hospital which trains
medical students, nursing students and other paramedics. The hospital currently has sixteen (16)
directorates. It is by far the second largest public multi-disciplinary institution in the area of health care
provision in the country, with over thousand two hundred (1200) bed capacity which covers all areas of
health care from prenatal to elderly.
I currently work full time at the emergency department which have about one hundred and twenty (120)
beds, as a nursing officer in the emergency unit.
2013-2014:





Triage Unit (Duties) (Staff Nurse)
Receiving telephone calls from referral point.
Assessment of new patients reporting to the facility and sending them to the appropriate unit.
Vital signs monitoring.
Administration of O2(oxygen) for patients with issue of breathing difficulties.
Monitoring of blood glucose and correcting patients with low glucose level.
