Prepare a draft questionnaire and send it to the professor for permission before performing the Virtual or Online Interview. The majority of interview questions were asked precisely as prepared. Leadership2 members, on the other hand, frequently followed up semi-structured queries with open-ended questions like "Why?" " and "Could you tell me a little more?" " This was the members' method of delving deeper into the meaning and complexity of the participants' experiences. The members of Leadership2 agreed to add a question to the initial interview procedure in the midst of the first interview. "Is 500 pesos enough to start a business?" was added to the question. If so, how would you go about doing it? ” This question was included to collect more information from participants regarding the overall value, or lack thereof, that they thought they got as a result of their previous leadership experiences. This question was posed to all three participants at the end of the interview. Questions Ten primary questions guided in this activity: 1. Theme 1: Business Strategy Participants praised their business strategy, considering it as a model for becoming a better leader. 1. “Yes, because when you have a business strategy, its like you have a plan or guide on what to do & that if things don’t go as smooth you would need to have a plan B or that you should also be prepared for any challenges along the way” II. Theme 2: Goals of a Leader Set in Mind Participants shared the capacity to accomplish efficient and productive procedures, which they referred to as short and long term aspirations. 1. “We have what you call a short term and long term goals, short term is probably the ones that would benefit you in right away or just for some time. Long term goals are probably the ones that you would need to do research and that would take u a lot of time and effort.” III. IV. Theme 3: Operating a Business Utilizing a Journal/Book Participants discussed and addressed a significant element of running a business while utilizing journals and books. 1. Theme 4:Business Webinar/Seminar Participation The participant admitted that they had never attended a webinar or a seminar before. They also said that it was not absolutely necessary during their time, and that it is known as a business convention. 1. “Actually yung mga webinar na yan is very new to me, di naman yan dati nauso sa panahon namin. And yes for seminars like sa mga government seminars, tesda, at nung college naman kami mandatory ang pagattend sa seminar nayan kasi curricular activities yan. Sa mga private sectors example IT, so meron kaming tinatawag na mga convention either gaming convention or mga other related business na swak sakin, umaattend ako. Kasi passion ko is into gaming pero ang business ko ngayon is raw materials dahil mahilig din ako sa supplements.Nung wala pang pandemic more on travel kami, umattend kami ng seminar, convention tapos trade show ganyan example is world trade center.” Page 12 of 25 V. Theme 5: Reasons to start a Business Participants believed that being able to lead effectively and precisely ensured that they were in the way of success. 1. “Para sakin, first is yung drive kong kumita. Page 13 of 25 VIII. Section 8: Photo Documentation This emphasizes the presentation of the result, which includes images and video presentations for review. Page 14 of 25 IX. Section 9: Individual Reflection Paper/Personal Plan This is an individual Personal Plan that details the student's interactions with the leader, including their feelings, emotions, and comments. It is a brief essay that represents the student's learning during the entire process of selecting a leader, conducting interviews, making presentations, and working in groups. It conveys the leader's success narrative, as well as his or her insights, experiences, and realizations. I. Penailber, Jose Angelo A. (Lai) • This activity gave me a huge realization that handling a business/organization or being a leader is not just a piece of cake, it requires time, patience, motivation, and hard-work to achieve what you really wanted. As a learner I am grateful for conducting this study simply because it permits me to learn new skills that will help me become a better leader in the future and strengthen my competitiveness after I graduate. For me, younger owners in particular, and I understand there are always variations, seem to believe that everything will fall into their lap in a fairly linear manner, and that all they have to do is keep rehashing the "entrepreneur mantra" whatever it is that week, and a unicorn will bloom. One can't blame them since we've linearized education and experience to the point where resilience has been weakened for them, and there are less schools of hard knocks, so it's difficult for them because it's unexpected and unique. In contrast, as you get older, you realize that the world does not owe you a unicorn, and that sacrifice may sometimes be a good thing in and of itself. However, this may rapidly turn into cynicism, which stifles or halts growth or change, as well as the will to act. More significantly, when the hubris of youth fades and the wisdom of age sets in, one begins to realize that you can only control so much, and that most of the essential elements, such as market timing, luck, and product market fit, are out of your control. So, what's the big deal? The ultimate reason it's difficult, though, is much simpler: the enormous unpredictability that each day presents is anathema to what most people consider to be comfortable settings. With no one to talk to about it and share the uncertainty, facing it every day with dignity and motivation for others on the team requires a lot of resilience. So I suppose I'm trying to say it's difficult because you have to lead with dignity in the face of enormous uncertainty and you have no one to talk to someone about it, which is difficult, especially if you've never really had the experiences to equip you with the skills to deal with it or if you've been worn down to the point where you don't care. II. Ang, Angelo Darnell C. • Having a business means risking something for you to gain money. For me I think that this is the most crucial part, “risking”. Some people are not built for risking things to get what they want. I, myself is really just scared of risking things, maybe just because I think that I should really be just betting on a sure win decision, I really don’t see risking is fit for me because I’m scared to lose so much. When I watched the interview, it made me see a new perspective in life then it made me think, if they could be successful, I could be too. The interviewees’ answer made me realized that the more you risk something, the more you can have in return. If you fail, you learn. If you succeed, then it’s a celebration. Failure is something that you don’t need to nudge in your face, failure is something that you need to embrace to improve yourself. Make your failures as your ladder to success because failure means you tried something, you accepted to do something, you challenged yourself to do new things. Because sometimes, failure is your best friend, and always the best teacher in life. One of the few answers that I liked in the interview is Mr. Arnel Ong said that there is no shortcut in business. It made me realized that it is true, because when you’re starting business, you are starting from the ground with your own money, with your own experience and with your own strategies. Having to start from the bottom to top is risky but fun. Risky because you don’t have enough experience, not enough resources and you’re starting with zero to little market (Customers). Fun because, when you’re starting business, you are experimenting, you are risking something that you haven’t even tried before, new, and fresh experience that you will learn by your own. Risky and fun, is all that I could say whenever I think of a business. You cannot do instant things in business, you cannot just go for a shortcut and be successful in your business, you should have plans and goals in mind to keep your business in a balanced condition. You should learn when to do things and what to do things in certain conditions. Page 15 of 25 It is okay to be nervous and scared before deciding, because when you are like that it means your goals are big, you think and dream big. Always trust and believe in yourself but never do things that you think you are not certain and happy. III. Panaguiton, Jerieth Angeles. • IV. After we interviewed these aspiring businessmen, I have learned so much in the business world. I learned the importance of trust, patience, and planning in business. I also learned the things needed when starting a business, the steps that I need to do or follow, and the like. I realized that there are no shortcuts when it comes to business dedication and hardwork is needed in business as cutting corners will not lead to good results. In order to avoid failures, I should always be ready for any challenges or circumstances that may occur. These types of things cannot be avoided due to many factors, however we can always be prepared to face them. Hence, planning is very important. I also learned that I should always have a positive mindset and I should always have trust in myself. I should always keep track and be hands-on on what is happening in a business by being involved in all the processes. I should be open to ideas and think thrice if that idea may benefit my business. Most importantly, I should have the drive and motivation to go on and move forward despite setbacks as nothing is easy when it comes to business but I should also learn when it’s time to stop. Sometimes in business, we are not going to succeed and not everything will go as planned and it is the hardest pill to swallow. We should learn to accept it when the time comes and start over again of desired. Ampawa, Mohammad Hisam • Business in the 21st century is both astonishing and demanding at the same time. People who are planning to establish one business should keep in mind the factors to consider so that their desired business will end up successful. With the interview that I have watched, I gained so many insights, and as a future entrepreneur, it can help me in achieving my dream business in the future which is to organize an online shop or, if possible, a bakery. I believe that there are no shortcuts to a successful business. Hence, I am more than willing to go through every single process that I will be facing in order for myself to achieve my dream. Most people quite disregard the fact that the true essence of having a business is earning. Some people might only say that they established a business just because they want to, or it’s a trend. Based on my observation, the majority of the people who are starting business are already rich. Considering the fact that they already have the money to serve as the capital, this makes it harder for the people who have only a low budget for a capital to hustle and be recognized since the rich people are the ones advancing. Even if we deny it or not, money gives people power. Power to do anything they want, anytime they want. Yet, people are even able to start a business even with only a small amount of money that they have. With this, I can say that everyone can be their own boss, even if they only have a small amount of money to serve as their capital. As long as they always carry with them their determination, passion, and patience. If I were to make a business plan, I will consider the manpower that I will have above anything else. For the reason that I am a slightly dependent person to which there will be times that I am not able to function well myself. With this, I really need as strong manpower in order for them to accompany me and my business even through the ups and downs. Moreover, people might view others who carry a small notebook or perhaps a journal a weird person. However, I can say that it is a huge help in the business industry wherein you can be able to jot down important notes in regard to your business or simply take note of things that happened within your day. In particular, owning a business means that you should carry a lot of trust in you not only for yourself, but also for the people that might serve as your partners or the corporation that you will be part of because business also encompasses the fact that there is a risk with anything that you do. This includes the reality that there CAN be someone who will truly betray you and be the reason for your business’ downfall. This left me with a mindset that I should consistently be careful on who I am going to trust along the way. Business is all about risks. Thinking about owning a business is already a risk. How much more the process of producing an effective and sufficient business, right? To end my paper, I would like to state that the business and entrepreneurship industry are based on friendship and trust. Business as a whole is already a risk, make sure that you are always mindful of the people that you will be accepting into your business. As long as we are thinking, we should always think big. V. Ong, Justyn Kyra • My reflection is this project/activity is that every business owner is different. They have their own style, own strategy & own mindset. So we see, handling a business is never “ that easy “ we can’t jus simply judge a product because we barely know the process and the idea that they went through in building those. Page 16 of 25 X.
