The actual interview was conducted on November 11, 2021 during 2:30pm in the afternoon.
Our group and the interviewee ensured that the Data Privacy Act of 2012 was implemented during
the whole interview session. Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act
is a law that seeks to protect all forms of information, be it private, personal, or sensitive. It
is meant to cover both natural and juridical persons involved in the processing of personal
information.
Resume of Person Interviewed
Mr. Ramon Nonito Barraquias is a successful entrepreneur. The way he gives leadership to
his employees is very professional. The way he handles payment of rents, renewal of license, and
buying of goods outstanding. Before entering the franchising world he studied culinary at Tante
Marie cordon bleu of culinary, Surrey, United Kingdom. After that, he went to the Philippines and
started franchising businesses and the rest is history.

1. How many years have you been working on your business?
“8 years starting from 2021.”
2. How were the services and qualities of the business been affected during these
difficult situations?
“Very difficult when it comes to logistics, the delivery of goods is difficult due to the
restrictions and the documents of drivers. The delivery of goods is slowing down, actually,
it depends if the goods are essential but since he has a food franchise it is very hard for it
to gain profit.
3. As a franchise owner, how do you define success?
“He said that in franchising you must not acquire only one franchise, you must have
multiple franchises. For him, to define success in the franchising world one must invest in
buying multiple franchises year by year.”
4. As a franchise owner, how can you sustain your business growth?
“As he said, in maintaining the business growth you must not stick to one franchise. Always
aim for not only one franchise but multiple. Always check the business licenses and have
time to check sales every time. His experience is that he started from one business and as
it sustains itself from paying also the bills of the franchise.
5. How do you manage your employees?
“Mr. Barraquias said that as a leader you must be firm and compassionate to the needs of
your employees.”
6. What do you look for during hiring a potential employee?
“Mr. Barraquias tends to look at the education of the employee. But for him, a high school
graduate is fine, as long as the potential employee has determination, drive, and is capable
of being trustworthy.”
7. Based on your perspective, what do you think are the qualities lacking among
today’s leaders?
“He stated that among today’s leaders, he doesn't think that they are lacking in some
qualities because he believed that if you can sustain a big business like that, you are well
skilled in that line of industry.”
8. Throughout your journey, what are the memorable lessons you have realized?
“ Mr Barraquais said that the most memorable lesson that he realized is that you have to
foresee the future.”
9. With these lessons and experiences, what advice would you give to someone who is
trying to start a franchise?
“He stated that we should first humble ourselves, start small, and focus on one goal only.”
10. In this time of hardship, what are your current goals?
“In this time of pandemic, his current goals are to save for the future and to build up again
his franchises”

Individual Reflection Paper/Personal Plan
Most of the group members learned a lot throughout the interview. The interviewee
answered the questions with such poise and professionalism. We tackled a lot about business,
especially franchising. Mr. Barraquias gave tips and advice about starting a franchise and how to
start a business. We gained a lot from this experience since a successful businessman or franchise
owner was in front of our screen for 30 minutes. In that short amount of time, we learned a lot.
Lastly, we want to thank Mr. Barraquias for giving us some of his time to do this interview.
