OPERATION KIDS
INTRODUCTION
The National Police Defense Foundation is a
congressionally recognized and IRS designated
501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that provides
important medical and legal support services
to the law enforcement community.
The NPDF funds several law enforcement
and child safety initiatives, such as Operation
Kids, Safe Cop, Project Pedophile and Save a
First Responder through membership dues and
public donations.
The NPDF Executive Board, its Coalition
Administrators, Program Managers and
Advisory Board are all volunteers. The NPDF
works for the interest of Federal Agents,
Sheriffs, Police Chiefs, State Troopers, County
and Local Law Enforcement personnel. Its roles
exceed over 205,000 members and supporters
worldwide, many of which include corporate,
professional and associate members.
The NPDF membership over the years,
has expanded internationally with members
in Europe, Asia, South America and the
Caribbean.

The “Operation Kids” program is a multi-faceted
NPDF child safety program that distributes free
child fingerprint/DNA kits to parents, sponsors
youth athletic events, posts periodic rewards on
missing children, offers grants and scholarships and
arranges life saving operations
for critically ill children. This
program was personally
endorsed by John Walsh of
America’s Most Wanted and
profiled on CBS Early Show.

Leandro Taveras, benefitted from
Operation Kids.
PROJECT PEDOPHILETM
The NPDF is the proud sponsor of “Project
Pedophile” addressing the serious increase of
pedophile activity on the internet that has been
victimizing our children. The program will reward
any child with a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond for
information that leads to the arrest and conviction of
any pedophile operating on the Internet.
SAFE COPTM PROGRAM
The NPDF congressionally recognized “Safe
Cop”TM posts up to a $10,000 reward for public
information leading to the arrest and conviction of
any person who shoots at a law enforcement officer
anywhere in the United States. This program has
been credited for numerous defendant convictions
and also provides financial and medical assistance
to disabled law enforcement officers and families of
officers killed in the line of duty.
SAVE A K-9 OFFICER
The NPDF also funds the “Save a K-9 Officer”
program which addresses the serious increase of
armed assaults on K-9 Police dogs by donating bullet
proof vests to law enforcement agencies for their K9
officers and dogs.

The NPDF mission statement is to “protect and
support” the interests of law enforcement. Too often,
dedicated law enforcement officers are victimized
by criminal elements that fabricate allegations
of misconduct. The NPDF has been credited in
exposing many of those injustices on national news
shows, such as 60 Minutes, NBC Date Line, Fox
News, CNN among others.

The NPDF is nationally renowned for providing
free medical and psychological services to law
enforcement officials who have become disabled in
the line of duty. The NPDF will periodically establish
upon request a medical fund to help the officer pay
outstanding medical debt. Due to the serious increase
of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and
police suicides, the NPDF has an affiliation with the
"COP 2 Cop" program which offers free confidential
counseling to active and retired law enforcement and
police safety officers via a 24/7 hotline.
