SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY The study is limited to the 2nd year to 4th year TLE students in Cagayan State University- Andrews Campus, enrolled during the First Semester, School Year 2021-2022. Due to the threat of the pandemic, data collection will be computer generated; data gathering will be held through internet since the respondents, reside from different areas. This study shall be conducted from August to December 2021. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY The findings in this study shall be helpful to the following: Students: The findings of the study would provide the students with valuable information that could be used as basis on how to improve or increase their level of competence in home economics. This also enables them to have a clearer understanding on why they should involve their selves on laboratory training that could help them master their field. Such understanding may foster positive results in terms of their performance. Teachers: If there are people inside the school that can best give and accurate evaluation of the level of competence of students, those are the teachers because they have direct supervision over them. This study aims to open the minds of the teachers that both competent and not competent students must be given an equal chance to success. This can be done by making an analysis as to why students perform in different manner. As a teacher, knowledge regarding student’s skill will provide them with better and appropriate solutions to problems encountered by the students in school. Parents: It is hope that parents and soon to be parents would be able to use the finding of the study and obtaining a deeper understanding of how children’s interest influence their level of competence. Optimistically, such understanding would enable them to recognize their roles in the development of their children’s skills behaviour that would ultimately lead to an improvement on their performance. CSU: The result of the study could provide information on the specific competency requirements that are not met for an effective TLE learning. Future Researchers: They could use the results of the current study as springboard for further researches on improvement of student’s performance on other major subjects DEFINITION OF TERMS For better understanding of the words indicated in this research, the author defined the following terms operationally.
