YOUNG PEOPLE AND GOD This presentation is hopefully inspired by God and if anyone has questions related, please don’t be afraid to let me WHO ARE YOUNG PEOPLE? • Young people are said to be approximately between the ages of 13 – 26. • They are more experienced than younger children. • Always considered as the future of society. WHAT MAKES YOUNG PEOPLE SO SPECIAL AS TO WHY GOD USES THEM IN HIS WORK? In order that the work may go forward in all its branches, God calls for youthful vigor, zeal, and courage. He has chosen youth to aid in the advancement of his cause. To plan with a clear mind and execute with courageous hand demands fresh, uncrippled energies. Young men and women are invited to give God the strength of their youth, that through the exercise of their powers, through the exercise of their powers, through keen thought and vigorous action, they may bring glory to him and salvation to their fellowmen. (Gospel workers, 67.) MYP 20.1 “I HAVE WRITTEN TO YOU, YOUNG MEN, BECAUSE YE ARE STRONG AND THE WORD OF GOD ABIDETH IN YOU AND YE HAVE OVERCOME THE WICKED ONE” 1 JOHN 2: 14 GOD CALLS UPON US BECAUSE HE SEES POTENTIAL IN US Did you know the devil is afraid of us? But WHY? • He knows that we are strong and would be a force to recon with once we stand fully with GOD. • He knows that we as young people are filled with talents that can be used to do great things once we put them in the hands of God. • Once we stand with God, we will be strong enough to overcome the devil. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:7,8 In this world that we live in, we always have this one thing to say. It is hard to be a young Christian. And it really is hard especially with temptations such as: • Friends that are not of the same belief • Attraction to the opposite sex at a young age or of different belief • Busy schedules • Social media • Dress • Influence of society etc. But God says “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14 God wants a clear distinction between his people and people of the world. This also applies to us as young people. Children of God • Should Dress different • Style of music should be different • Gatherings should be different • Their conversations should be different • Relationships should be different • Especially our Character should be different etc.. God has a purpose for both YOU AND ME You may ask, but what exactly is my purpose? Well our purpose should be God’s purpose. God’s purpose is to have each and every single one of us with him in heaven. God uses man as a method of carrying out his word and his will. That is our general purpose as young Christians. But You have to remember YOU CAN’T DO IT ALONE “For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”” Isaiah 41:13 “The Lord has a special work to do for us individually.” MYP 26.1 Examples of young persons in the bible • Samuel(1sam:3) • Jeremiah(Jer1:4-8) • Daniel(Dan.1) • David(1Sam 16) • The 3 Hebrew boys • Joseph(Gen. 37) • Esther(Est 7) • Miriam(Exo. 2) • And especially Jesus (Luke 2) God will use you just as how he had used others in the past, if you but give your whole heart over to him and crucify self. “If you do this then you will have a powerful influence in the world.” MYP 26.1 How should we act? Most of us as human beings do not like to stand out, we just want to go with the crowd without actually considering our own beliefs. Most of us just want to blend in. But God says “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 “My son, do not walk in the way with them; hold back your foot from their paths” Proverbs 1:15 Look at how these men standing out Learn to stand out, to be different and to stand up for God. Do NOT be afraid to do the right thing because you think you are too young. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 What is the Character of God? God is pure and uncorrupt, there is literally no evil in him. Persons often view our creator as this tyrant but he isn’t. God is uncapable of that. “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5 Unless we have the fruit of the spirit, we will not have the character of God. We can always keep his commandments but what is the benefit that we keep the law and our inner deepest thoughts are corrupted and sinful? “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.” Galatians 5:22 God is the purest form of love and if we don’t love then how will we be able to be like him. “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:8 God does not change, the same God who lead our forefathers through the Red sea, is the same God who is going to help you to attain his Character. If you but put your trust in him and believe that yes, he will help you to become Perfect just like him, then it will happen. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 Yes “ all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23 but God says that “You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect,” Matthew 5:48 God requires for us to be perfect. We need to stop believing that we cannot be perfect and that God alone is perfect. Yes, he is perfect but he wants us to be perfect just like him and God would not set a boundary that he knew we couldn’t reach. He would not give us anything he knows that we can’t bare. Let God’s character manifest in you today Dress Reform Deuteronomy 22:5 “A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God” What exactly does this mean? • It means that we as Christians should dress as according to our respective genders. • Women should wear clothing that may hide the detailed features of their body. • Men should wear clothing that shows their masculinity. History has shown where women has decided to reduce the length of skirts and eventually gotten rid of it. We as young female Christians should dress MODESTLY Men should be men and women should be women. Our hair is our glory and our body is the temple of God. Who are we to desecrate something that doesn’t even belong to us. 1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. Men levels of Masculinity has certainly decreased. There is literally no difference between men and women anymore. 1 Peter 3:3-8 3 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— 4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, The definition of androgynous is something that has both female and male traits, or something that is not clearly either masculine or feminine. Basically having both female and male characteristics. Examples of Androgyny • Unisex Clothing • Hermaphrodites • Men that dress like women and visa versa • Women doing jobs meant for men and visa versa Just because they are doing it does not mean that you should do it. People think that it is ok just because others are doing it but it is NOT. These people are literally deceiving you! “Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,” 2 Thessalonians 2:3 What’s the difference? • Homosexuals: sexually attracted to people of one's own sex (lesbian & Gay). • This term refers to someone who is sexually and/or emotionally attracted to more than one gender. • Transgender: denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex. • Queer: denoting or relating to a sexual or gender identity that does not correspond to established ideas of sexuality and gender, especially heterosexual norms. • Intersex – This term refers to people who naturally have biological traits which do not match what is typically identified as male or female. God loves the sinner but hates the sin. God calls all sinners unto him so that he can save them from their sins. God is calling every sinner out of their bondage because his wish is for each of us to make it home to him. Being Gay IS A SIN The greatest want of the world is the want of men-men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. Deal faithfully with wrongdoing. Warn every soul that is in danger. Leave none to deceive themselves. Call sin by its right name. Declare what God has said in regard to lying, Sabbathbreaking, stealing, idolatry, and every other evil. "They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Gal. 5:21. “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” Leviticus 18:22 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law” 1John 3:4 Being Gay is not what God had set. The devil has used this as a way to counterfeit his correct way of marriage and we as humans have fallen for his trap. Let us try to follow the way that God has set and not Satan’s unnatural way of doing things. God is pleading with you that you follow his law and leave sin alone. God loves us but we continue to hurt him and transgress his law. He forgives us over and over again yet still we don’t learn. Repent of your sins and give up the things of the world. We all need to do this. He does not want us to suffer but wants us to live with him. He has a crown and robe waiting for us but are you wiling to be that Faithful servant?
