by teaching us and by informing us about other’s culture and news.

Media
World has become global village as Marshall McLuhan has elaborated that world has
been contracted by advancement in communication and technology. Through internet and
technology ,media has made the world dependent on it because of its benefits as it is the source
of connectivity and news as well the medium of learning and teaching of culture , politics,
economic conditions and improvements in every field of the world. Consequently, electronic,
print, web and social media connected all people as they are living in a village where people
knows all about its habitants.
Media is the source of connection but particularly social media is much dominant in
matter of connecting people of each corner of the world. In the olden days, people had to wait for
many days for the reply of loved ones in the form of letters. But now it has become a piece of
cake as we can send and receive messages, can have video, audio call to anyone who is sitting
thousands of mile away from us by just one touch anytime, anywhere . Social media also give
facility to express our emotion verbally as well as non-verbally. All in all we can say that media
has made people easy to live far from family and made people close to each other.
Just few decades ago, when television was not common, people were used to get news of
good and bad events after days and weeks of its occurrence. But now news spreads like a fire in
forest as sources has been become fast and accurate. Newspapers, news channels, social media,
and web media are now specifically working on this perspective of the society to give
information and awareness as soon as possible. Secondly, it is easier to share links than to write
the whole information again and again. Similarly it is easy for people to be updated with current
affairs smoothly than to cram books at the end of the year.
Learning is also an important part of life and it was so difficult for a student in the past to
afford books. Students were used to go academies, libraries and to teachers to get solutions of
these issues but now this issue is no more as media is the cheap source of learning culture,
languages, ethics, technology and all information of other fields. Now people share knowledge
over Facebook and whatsapp groups as well as web blogs about their social events. Moreover,
students prefer social media for their curricular work. Such as they share content related to it and
discuss issues about courses on open platform. Furthermore, businessmen also use this type of
media for promotion and advertisement of their products and companies.
All in all, to conclude this discussion, the platform of media has globalized the people
and facilitated them through its four networks. Because of this, people has done the progress and
development. But the main advantage of media is awareness and connectivity with all in every
corner of the world.
