Call/Decline Codes 65 / Activity limit exceeded The customer’s issuing bank has denied the transaction from being authorized because your customer is over his/her credit limit for the card (or processing the attempted transaction would cause the customer to go over the limit). Call/Decline Codes 93 / Violation, cannot complete The customer’s issuing bank has denied the transaction from being authorized because of some violation related to the account. Hold-Call Codes 07/ Pick up card ,special condition (fraud account) Lost card, Pick up (fraud account). Error Codes 00 / Issuer System unavailable This is oftentimes a temporary communication error. Try the transaction again after a few minutes. If the error continues, contact the issuer. Error Codes 12 / Invalid transaction amount The customer’s card issuer has denied the transaction usually when a transaction for the same amount and merchant is attempted multiple times quickly for the same card. The card holder should contact their issuing bank. Error Codes 13 / Invalid amount The customer's card issuer has declined the transaction because of an invalid format or field. Check the transaction information and try the transaction again after a few minutes. Error Codes 15 / No such issuer American Express (AMEX), Visa, Mastercard, and Discover have numbers that start with three, four, five, and six digits respectively. This error occurs if a user fails to enter the correct initial numbers that match the card type. Error Codes 19 / Re-enter An Unknown Error Occurred. In this case, all you can do is to try again. If you keep getting the same error, contact the issuer. Error Codes 28 / File is temporarily unavailable This code comes up if there is a glitch during authorization. Your best bet is to enter the numbers again, contacting the issuer if the error continues. Error Codes 58 / Transaction not permitted, terminal This happens if your merchant processing account is not properly configured to accept the transaction. Ask your account provider if your POS can be re-configured accordingly. Error Codes 62 / Invalid service code, restricted This can happen if your system is not configured to accept AMEX or Discover, or if your customer is trying to pay online with a card that is not authorized for internet payments. In these cases, contact your merchant account provider or have your customer pay with a different method respectively. Error Codes 63 / Security violation This happens when the CVV or CID code on the back of the card was not read correctly. In most cases, running the transaction without including the code will work just fine. Just be sure to let your customer know that you have done so in case the transaction is flagged as fraudulent. Error Codes 85 / Issuer system unavailable or No reason to decline This category covers errors that are otherwise unexplainable and usually resolve on their own. Try again and contact the issuer if the problem continues. Error Codes 91 / Issuer switch is unavailable There is no specific reason for the failure. Try again, and contact the issuer or your payment processor if the situation continues. Error Codes 93 / Violation, cannot complete Because of some problem with the customer’s account, the transaction has been denied. Ask the customer to pay with a different card and to contact the issuer to get to the bottom of the problem.
