We require the names and respective divisions of your athletes ahead of time as indicated on the attached registration sheet. If you could have these e-mailed to bkenney@rccdsb.edu.on.ca by Friday, October 11th, as I would like to avoid last minute changes to names and divisions. I will e-mail you a return confirmation note. As Brian and Judy Hugli run a busy business, please refrain from inquiries for your team to practice run the course prior to race day. Race packages will also only be available on the morning of Wednesday, October 16th. I have also attached a list of race day ideas for coaches and athletes to ensure we have a safe and successful day on October 16th. Please go over relevant points with your runners. Individual awards (medals) will be given out as the top three runners cross the finish line, where they will be escorted to the podium and pictures taken. I will attach these pictures to the results that will be forwarded to you after the meet. Team awards, once they are posted, can be picked up by coaches at an awards table set up near the finish line. You must have 4 runners for a team. Individual champions (top 3), in each division will receive medals. Trophy and ribbons for the top team in each race, and ribbons for the runner up team. Overall school championship banner. Follow school protocol re: student puffers, epi-pens and other medical issues. Coaches of special needs athletes are asked to contact the conveners before race date to accommodate their athletes. Teams should attempt to wear like colored team shirts. Pizza, pop and various other lunch snacks will be on sale throughout the day. “Renfrew County Cross Country” shirts are available for a cost of $25.00. This is especially important if you have runners sharing and changing jerseys - otherwise they will not score; please ensure you are aware of your runners' medical needs - puffers, epi pens, etc. 911 is our emergency contact. Address: Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch, 2139 Greenwood Road Pembroke, ON K8A 6W2; the yearly plaque on the division trophy is your school's responsibility over the year that you have the trophy; everyone needs to be mindful of races going on - clear the way and leave ample room for the runners; avoid asking questions about how you did to the finish line crew - they are super busy and really don't know; runners need to be careful and safe before and after races - especially on the play structures, etc.; coaches will receive an email with the results and pictures (individual award winners) after the meet; please make an effort to have folks pick up their garbage - a garbage bag is given in the meet package on race day and there are several around the property; if someone loses something on race day, please email me (bkenney@rccdsb.edu.on.ca) and I'll check our lost and found bags; results will be posted on the back of the ranch building. If it is raining, likely somewhere under the tent; if there is the potential for lightening, we will need to re-schedule the day; please direct race day questions to me - B. Kenny.
