MUSCULAR STRENGTH
and ENDURANCE
Muscular strength and endurance are
two important parts of your body’s
ability to move, lift things and do dayto-day activities.
Benefits:
1. Increase your ability to do activities.
2. Reduce the risk of injury.
3. Help you keep a healthy body weight.
4.Lead to healthier, stronger muscles and bones.
5.Improve confidence and how you feel about yourself.
6.Give you a sense of accomplishment.
7. Allow you to add new and different activities to your
exercise program.
BODY COMPOSITION
Body composition is a term used often
by doctors and health professionals. It
refers to the percentage of fat, bone, and
muscle in your body. Doctors use
body composition to see if you’re at a
healthy weight for your individual
body.
Why Is Body Composition Important?
Body composition is a universal term used in the health
and fitness industry. Doctors use body composition to
find what percentage of your body weight is fat. This
helps them find out your level of health. Body
composition is important because someone else can be
the same height and weight as you, but they might have
more body fat and less muscle. This could lead to
different health issues in them.
FLEXIBILITY
Flexibility is the ability of a joint
or series of joints to move
through an unrestricted, pain free
range of motion.
EFFECTS OF BEING
INFLEXIBLE
Joints require movement through a
full range of motion to maintain the
health of cartilage and other
structures within the joint with
increased blood supply and nutrients
to joint structures with increased
quantity of synovial joint fluid (oil in
the crank case).
Muscles that are inflexible tire
more quickly, causing
opposing muscle groups to
work harder. Muscle fatigue
can lead to muscular injuries
and the inability of the
muscles to protect joints from
more severe injuries
SPEED
SPEED IS THE ABILITY TO
MOVE QUICKLY ACROSS THE
GROUND OR MOVE LIMBS
RAPIDLY TO GRAB OR
THROW

CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE
Cardiovascular endurance is a
measure of how well you can do
exercises that involve your whole
body at moderate to high intensity
for an extended time. Improving
your cardiovascular endurance can
make it easier for you to carry out
your daily tasks. It can also lessen
your risk of diseases such as
diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
