details before turn on the vacuum pump set; Start operation or
maintenance after understanding the structure and functions. Please note:
the manual content may be different from actual situation, due to

Introduction
This manual introduces working principle and main structure of
Blackfish X single stage rotary vane vacuum pump set and tries to
provide function, operation, reparation and maintenance knowledge for
important parts of vacuum pump set.
Blackfish brand X single stage rotary vane vacuum pump set quality
is controlled and tested, but user should read this manual in details and
master the operation methods before installation, commissioning, and
operation in order to insure the vacuum pump set operating reliably and
persistent and in excellent working situation. If any undefined
information in this manual, please contact us or our after service, we will
try to help you solve the problems.
User Documentation
Warning
Before the installation and commissioning of the machine, Please be sure
to read the following safety rules and warnings, and all caution signs stick
to equipment. Make sure that warning signs are placed in the prominently
place and replace the loss or damage signs.

with the relevant requirements, without taking corresponding measures, it
may result in death, serious body injury or substantial damage to
property.

"Certified person"
The "certified person" sign in the manual and machine means that the
staffs who work on this machine should be familiar with the machinery
installation, commissioning, operational processes, requirements and the
various possible emergencies.
He (she) must also be qualified with the following requirements:
1. The person who has received specialized training and passes the
examination is capable of executing all kinds of operation which includes
power connection, power break off, cleaning, wire connection in
accordance with the practices and safety operation process of the manual.
2. The people who can execute the operation of maintain running and
production of the machine in accordance with the convention and the
safety procedures and request of manual.
3. The person who has received training in first aid.
Safety guide:
Hereinafter the “warning", “Caution” and “Tip" is for your safety, which
is the measure that prevent the machine or its parts from injury. When
dealing with items related to the machines, it is usually involved listed in
the “warning", “Caution” and "Tip", which is divided into the following
categories:
Conventional, transportation and storage, labor insurance, fireproof and
waterproof, commissioning, operation, maintenance, disassembly and
disposal. (Application of operation is at the beginning of the relevant
chapter and the necessary points of this chapter are repeated or add.)
Please read the “warning,” “attention” and “tip” very carefully, as they
offered you ensure of personal safety, and may help to extend the use life
of this machine and its components.
Conventional:
Warning
Before using the machines, must be familiar with the manual concerning
all the safety instructions and the installation, operation and maintenance
requirements. It is the reliable guarantee for the machine running safely
and successfully.
Caution
Prevention children or public from approaching the machine!
This equipment can only be in accordance with the prescriptive purposes
to use. Our company does not guarantee the normal operation of machine
if unauthorized modification occurs to the machine.
Please place "instruction manual" in the place of nearby and easy to find

to ensure that all the staffs is able to use conveniently.
Before the installation and commissioning machinery, make sure to read
these safety rules and warnings carefully and all the warning signs
sticking on the machine. To ensure that warning signs place in the
prominent place and replace the falling off or damaged signs.
1. Labor insurance
Caution
Before the installation and operation, all relevant installation and
operation staff should be familiar with and abided by the relevant
regulations of labor insurance, as well as the regulation of laws and
standard in local countries and regions.
Fireproof
Warning
If lubricant or other flammable material spills over, it should be removed
immediately. Mars, flame or other combustible material are strictly
forbidden. When inspecting or adding lubricants, prohibits smoking
around. The maintenance is supposed to be carrying out when the
machine is in the state of stop.
When the machine is ready for maintenance or cleaning, all the power
should cut off.
Ensure that the electrical lines (including wiring terminals and contacts)
are normal. If the wires are getting damaged, scratched, low insulation,
old thrum, faded, rusted, it should be changed over. Be sure to keep the
clean of connector and thrum.
Keep the grounding or conductive objects (such as tools, etc.) away from
the exposed electrical parts (the wiring terminals) to avoid sparking when
discharge.
If it needs to weld when repairing, please move the flammable, explosive
items nearby to safety place to avoid accidents.
Please remove the tarpaulin, paper and other flammable material from the
machine.
A fire extinguisher is supposed to be placed near the equipment.
Caution
Vacuum pump generates sharp noise during operation, and can affect
human hearing ability. Noise proof devices should be equipped for
workers operating long term near vacuum pumps without noise reducing.
2. Waterproof

Caution
No matter what state the machine is, it is not allowed to splash water into
the distribution boxes, operation panel, motor, safety switches or other
electrical equipment to avoid the accidents like short circuit and so on.
It is prohibited to open the back door of the machine, so as not to splash
water into the equipment which causing unnecessary accidents when
cleaning the machine.
If water is splashed into the equipment, electrical equipment should be
immediately shut down. Cleaning up, electrical equipment is allowed to
operate only after insulation testing is qualified.
Warning
Machinery maintenance can only be executed by certified qualified
operator, who is much supposed to be very familiar with the operation
steps mentioned in the manual.
Any defective parts and devices must be replaced with the appropriate
spare parts.
Be sure to cut off the power before maintenance.

Safety Attention
1. Users must read the manual before operation.
2. Users must make sure all connections and parts tight; enough lubricate
oil in the pump before operation.
3. Users must provide enough power to the vacuum pumps, meanwhile,
get air switch and fuse, etc installed. To make sure security of the
electricity devices, you must connect correct grounding wires and
remain enough maintenance space, according the relative security
rules.
4. Our pumps do not fit for corrosive air, inflammable and explosive air,
mixed air and liquid.
5. Do not loose and uninstall any connections, parts and apparatus while
pumps are running. It might result in serious person injury and
accident if equipment is full of high-temperature liquid and air.
6. Users must make sure pump off and without any air inside while pump
examined, maintain and care.
7. Users must use security liquid to clean pumps and parts.
I. Brief Introduction
X series vacuum pump sets take one, two, or three single-stage vane
vacuum pump as main pump, and combine with buffer storage tank and
electric cabinet to become new type vacuum extraction equipment. We
name one single-stage vane vacuum pump set as JX, two single-stage
vane vacuum pumps set as J2X, three single-stage vane vacuum pumps
set as J3X. According to the vane vacuum pump and buffer storage tank
model, a completed set will be installed on a buffer tank or frame, and
equip with vacuum pipes and stainless steel bellows. Electric cabinet
contains open phase protection, short circuit protection, and over current
protection. The whole set is in compact structure and is convenient for
using.
II. Structure Characteristics
X Single-stage vane vacuum pump set has buffer storage tank, it can
increase sucking rate immediately for meeting large air extraction needs.
At the same time, there have vacuum gauge and pressure controller;
customers can set different parameters to save energy.
Single-stage rotary vane pump inlet is equipped with inlet filter, which
can reduce the foreign matter and micro granular solid into the vacuum
pump.

III. Application
X series single-stage rotary vane vacuum pump set is suitable for
environmental temperature from 5°to 30°, humidity is less than 80%. X
series single-stage rotary vane vacuum pump set can extract air below 1
atmospheric pressure and in other industrial and mining enterprises do not
contain acid corrosive gas, toxic, flammable, explosive gas with damage
to the vacuum pump.
X series single stage rotary vane vacuum set can be still used for vacuum
blister, vacuum packaging, vacuum exhaust, vacuum degassing, vacuum
extraction separation, vacuum distillation, vacuum, vacuum molding,
vacuum casting, vacuum protection, transportation, such as heat treatment
and welding process.
X series single stage rotary vane vacuum set is widely used in hospitals,
shoe-making industry, machinery, chemical industry, electronics, textiles,
printing and other industries.
X series single stage rotary vane vacuum unit can also be combined into
various forms, to further expand the scope of its use.

V. Transportation
Transportation: X series vacuum pump set can be transported by cars, use
shovel car for unload. In long distance transportation, vacuum pump must
be packed by wooden cases with signs. Take care when transportation
loading and unloading. Any throw, chuck, hit and inversion is not
allowed. In case of any heavy shake and drench.
Storage: Machines should be placed in ventilated room with temperature
of 5℃-30℃ and relative humidity(higher than 30% or lower than 80%).
Vacuum pump should not be used in below situation: dusty, smoky,
electric dust, caustic air, combustible air, and exposure to high
temperature, rain, shaking, and hit places.
VI. Installation
X series vacuum pump should be horizontally installed on hard ground in
room, or fixed with foot screw. There should be left 800mm space around
vacuum pump set for convenient maintenance.
There should have three phases’ power and water cooling set.
X series vacuum pump set air inlet should be the same size as pumped
container pipe.(Attention: No foreign matter in air inlet during
installation)
X series vacuum pump set air outlet cannot connect any pipe. But we
suggest connecting pipes out of room for reducing pollution and noisy,
but it cannot install valves.
VII. Debugging
1,Single-stage rotary vane vacuum pump oil adding should be strictly
abided by the liquid level line position
2,Check all water, gas pipes connected correctly and no leakage

phenomenon, close air inlet valve.
3,After completed earthed power supply is connected, electrical control
box panel power supply (red) lights.
4,Check the turning of the rotary-vane vacuum pump: point unit (click
the start button, immediately press the stop button), check the turning of
the rotary-vane vacuum pump are consistent with whether to sign, if not
consistent, changing any two phase of the motor wiring.
VIII. Operation
1,Open air inlet valve.
2,Start pump set, press start button (green), vane vacuum pump
operating lamp lighting (green), and pump set is working.
3,Close pump set, press stop button(red), operating lamp(green) turn
dim, pump set stop working.
IX. Maintenance
1,Single-stage rotary vane vacuum pump maintenance should be based
on instruction book.
2,Daily check the power supply of electrical control box panel and
running lights, damaged part should be replaced immediately.
3,Daily inspection unit of vacuum (inflatable) electromagnetic valve, the
valve should be synchronization with rotary-vane vacuum pump. When
starting pump, using finger press the hole of valve, if it has suction, the
valve does not open, the valve has fault. It is necessary to stop the
machine immediately to check electromagnetic valves and electrical
wiring, troubleshoot and start vacuum unit.(depending on the
configuration)
4,Maintenance for pump set every six months or one year.
5,Completed maintenance for pump set every two years.
X. Packing opening and checking
1,When opening the boxes，be sure to avoid injuring the machine.
2,Check whether the following be with the machine：

3,Inspect the machine and spare parts according to packing list.
Appendix 1
i,Wearing parts change sign. It emphasizes “please read carefully
installation introduction and wearing parts changing indication”. The sign

is on oil separator of the vacuum pump.
ii This sign is on upper position of oil separator. It emphasizes: “Please
read carefully the introduction before installation and operation.”
iii, Scald warning sign. The sign is on vacuum pump connecting. Vacuum
pump surface temperature can reach at 72℃, thus worker should not
touch the pump in case of any scald, burn and death.
iv,Electric shock warning. The sign is on motor junction box. Only
authorized personnel can open the junction box and connecting wires.
Take care of electric shock, in case of any body-hurt.

v,Grounding. The sign is in the motor junction box. It means terminal
connecting conductor for outside protection or protective grounding
electrode. The grounding wires must be grounded during connection. One
electric leakage happens, the leaked electric current can be grounded and
avoid electric shock and death.
vi,A sign is pasted on the exhaust air exit. It means steam or deleterious
air is exhausted in normal workaround.
vii Rotating direction sign is pasted on motor vane cover. Confirm
whether the rotating direction is the same as the sign, or the vacuum
pump cannot work normally.
viii Nameplate is on front of the machine with main specification on it.

XI. Quality Guarantee
Blackfish Industries (Shanghai) Co., Ltd promises that we will provide
one year quality insurance since the date of shipment. During the quality
insurance period, based on the normal use, if our products have defect
caused by the material and processing, we will responsible to replace and
maintain the wearing parts for free. The seals used on the vacuum pumps
and the vacuum pump oil, oil filter, exhaust filter, intake filter core etc,
which are wearing parts, are not within the scope of the quality insurance.
The premise of quality assurance is that all products must install, operate
and maintenance correct according to the manual we provided.
Conditions like: wrong use of vacuum pumps, without maintenance,
dismantling unauthorized modification or repair without our confirmation,
are not within the scope of the quality insurance. Inappropriate working
environment, such as voltage, higher or lower ambient temperature
conditions will affect the vacuum pump performance and life, so it will
lead to failure of quality assurance.
In the warranty period, if the product is required to return to guarantee
repair, that must get the approval from our side and pay the freight. If that
is really product quality defect, we will repair and replace the wearing
parts, but we will not bear the cost of freight and related cost. If that is not
caused by the quality defect, the users are required to pay the cost of
repairing and spare parts. On the request of the customer's vacuum pumps,
spare parts, as well as Division I have stopped the supply of products will
not be returned.
Quality assurance applications must be made in the warranty period. In
any case, the limits of our civil liability will not exceed the contract price
of quality problems and parts. In addition, we will not undertake any
special, direct and indirect losses caused by damaged vacuum pumps.
Blackfish Industries (Shanghai) Co., Ltd retains the ultimate power of
interpretation for the quality insurance.
If have any condition beyond the scope of the quality insurance, that will
not get the quality warranty.
