Describe a famous building or landmark in Vietnam or in the world
Today I want to talk about The Eiffel Tower, the most famous symbol of Paris, it is
a structure made of iron 324 meters high, when completed it became the tallest
tower in the world and held that record for 40 years. Eiffel Tower located on the
Champ-de-Mars park, next to the Seine river, the city of Paris.
If you are going to Paris, you have to visit the Eiffel Tower. Apart from being a
monument to incredible engineering, it's attractive, hard not to look at.
This Tower was designed and built by engineer Gustave Eiffel and his colleagues
from 1887 to 1889 on the occasion of the 1889 World Exposition, and this is also
the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. From the beginning, the Eiffel
Tower was not only used for tourism but also for scientific purpose. Today, the
tower continues to be a radio and television broadcasting station for the Paris.
The tower has 3 floors, its space is divided for many different services. In addition
to two restaurants Altitude 95 and Le Jules-Verne located on the second and third
floors, the tower also has fast food restaurants, galleries and souvenir shops.
The ground floor has intricately decorated arcs, for the tower they have an
aesthetic function and help the base of the tower to be firm. The second floor is
square in shape and can accommodate up to 3000 people. A corridor running
around allows visitors to enjoy all view of Paris. On this floor, many traces of the
tower’s history can be seen. And the third floor is consider the ideal floor to see
Paris. Under the floor, glass panes allow visitors to look down on the ground.
Since its inauguration, the Eiffel tower has been repainted 7 times, the tower has
also undergone many colors, finally the bronze brown as we see it today. Initially,
the Eiffel Tower was subject of controversy. The artists of the period thought the
monument to be monstrous, and given its poor profitability, it was suggested on
several occasions that they should demolish it. But Currently, the Eiffel Tower is
the most-visited monument in the world with over 7 million visitors a year.
And I really want to visit Eiffel Tower in future, because it is represent the city.
So, I love Eiffel, I love Paris.
