II. RATIONALE
The Fisheries Conservation Week is celebrated annually in the country headed by the Bureau of Fisheries
and Aquatic Resources. The celebration aims to promote the importance of fish and other aquatic products to the
people’s well-being and the country’s economy. This year’s theme is “Kapag Karagatan ng Munisipal ay
Inaalagaan, Sasagana ang Yamang-Dagat ng Buong Sambayanan”. The celebration gives the College of Fisheries
of University of Antique Tario-Lim Memorial Campus the opportunity to expose students and faculty members to
activities with regards to fish conservation. It serves as a venue where theories learned from classes will be
implemented, practiced and experienced. It is an avenue for celebration and appreciation of the fisheries resources
of the province together with the aim of their protection and conservation. The activity promotes the development
of the skills, positive attitude and unity of the students and faculty for the progress of the College of Fisheries and
of the University of Antique Tario-Lim Memorial Campus.
III. OBJECTIVES
The following are the objectives of the activities:
1. To promote awareness and importance of fish conservation among the College of Fisheries faculty,
staff and students;
2. To expose students in competitions and develop their skills and sense of self-confidence;
3. To inculcate to the College of Fisheries family the importance of their roles in fisheries resources
protection and conservation.
