1.4 In your own words, summarize ASCE’s Vision for Civil Engineering in 2025.
ASCE’s vision for Civil Engineers in my own words. Civil Engineers will be the backbone of society, we
will be the driving force behind developing systems that will promote a sustainable world that drastically
improve they we live. We will not only be knowledgeable of other disciplines but fearless in
collaborating with those discipline in creating sustainable solutions.
1.10 Which area of emphasis within civil and environ- mental engineering appeals to you most? Why?
Which area of engineering Civil or Environmental appeals to me, Personally I lean more toward the
grounding breaking stage of a project where you are looking at how can you level everything and
develop drainage at the same time.
1.11 Which area of emphasis within civil and environ- mental engineering appeals to you least? Why?
The area of emphasis I am least excited for is protection of the environment, I am concern and care
about the environment, it those who don’t care that make it a challenge. An example, oil spills workers
are often apprehensive in reporting due to cost associate with the contamination. I am a firm believer
that it is all our duty to protect the environment, but I find it a challenge to convince other due to the
fear of fines.
