BILL OF RIGHTS HOMEWORK
Please explain simply in your own words the first 10 Amendments of our Constitution AKA, the Bill
of Rights:
1st Amendment- ​Guarantees freedom of religion, speech, the press, assembly, and petition
2nd Amendment- ​Right to bear arms
3rd Amendment- ​Soldiers may not come to take over houses
4th Amendment- ​Protects the people from unreasonable searches and seizures
5th Amendment- ​Due process
6th Amendment- ​Speedy and public trial
7th Amendment- ​Citizens guaranteed a trial by jury
8th Amendment- ​No excessive bail or cruel and unusual punishment
9th Amendment- ​All rights not stated in the constitution and not forbidden by the constitution belong
to the people
10th Amendment- ​States that any power not granted to the federal government belongs to the states
or to the people
