In the last 10 years the technology has continously been updated versus increasingly tighter requirements of semiconductor and electronics industries. The technology is also successfully applied in the plant of C&G Materials (now JT Materials) in Chungbuk, Korea. Via cooperation with VS Gas, Phuc Thanh Vietnam JSC is fully entitled to utilize the technology. 1. N2O manufacturing block diagram 2. Technology in details N2O 6N is nitrous oxide with high purity of 99,9995% upwards. It is is charged in special melting and decomposition vessels. The nitrous oxide (N2O) is obtained by continuous thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3). The gas is cooled and washed to remove impurities. The complete purification system is comprehensively designed to take care of impurities in N2O gas produced in the process of decomposing ammonium nitrate. During purification steps involving water washing, Alkali Scrubbing, Demineralized Water Scrubbing and polishing N2O undergoes a series of chemical and physical purification steps. The washed and largely purified N2O gas is collected in the gas holder/ balloon. From the balloon this gas is fed to a specially designed dry running compressor. The compressed N2O gas is dried in a special dual limb drier system. The dry N2O gas, largely free of all impurities is then liquefied in a specially designed liquefaction system. At this liquefaction stage any non-condensable impurities are also removed from the N2O. The purified, compressed, dried and liquefied N2O is stored in a process vessel made of stainless steel. Liquified N2O can be filled through a high pressure pump in cylinders, ISO tank, loaded onto tube trailer or it can be vaporized for use in the client’s process.
