Geocentric and Heliocentric Foldable Notes

Geocentric
“Ancient View”
Ancient Greeks thought that the Earth was at the center of the
universe.
Ptolemy – thought that the planets and starts moved around the
Earth (revolve), BUT while doing so, they spun in small circles
(rotate) as well
Heliocentric
“Modern View”
Copernicus – Theory that the sun was at the center of the solar
system.
Galileo – used the telescope to see moons revolving around
Jupiter. Showed Earth wasn’t at the center of the solar system.
