The Diary of a Young Girl
(PROJECT DISCUSSION)
Keeping a Reader’s Response Journal

1. Read the novel everyday during the Reading Time, Wednesday EL Time,
and during Morning Assembly and your free time.

2. Prepare a Reader’s Response Journal to be updated every time you
read.

3. For your response, consider her daily entry and date your response
based on the diary date.

4. Your response must be authentic by expressing your real feeling towards
the situation and characters.
Every entry must contain the following:

1. New Words Learned and their meanings

2. Questions that come to your mind while reading (at least 3)

3. Answers to the given questions by the teacher (if there are)

4. Feelings/ emotions felt while reading with explanations

5. Reflection/ Lessons learned about life

You may design your online journal;

You may include photos;

Feel free to create your journal design.
Part 2: Video Response

(Details will be given later on.)

Concentrate on the response-journal yet because the video cannot be
done without the response-journal


2. What are Anne’s feelings toward her father?

3. In these chapters, do you sense how serious the situation really is?

4. Why might Mrs. Van Daan be so hard to get along with?

5. How does Anne continue her education after going into hiding?
