BY SATURDAY ART CLASS
So like how we EXPRESSED different emotions/ feelings
in unique ways,
similarly, we will learn about a very famous and talented artist,
Marc Chagall, who used art to paint his positive feelings
during negative times!
Marc Chagall was born in a small town in Russia in 1887. He had 9 siblings.
Even as a child, he always knew he wanted to study art and become an
artist.
To study more about art, when he was 22 years old, he had to move to
another city, Paris, in another country called France, far away from this
hometown.
Marc Chagall was born in a small town
in Russia
At age 22, he moved to France
Paris
(FRANCE)
You are here!
Marc Chagall believed in painting from the heart
and that’s what he did!
He lived through many scary times, like fights between his religious
community, both World Wars and more. Yet, he was someone who always
saw the good in things and people and was a happy person.
His small town made him happy and he often painted scenes from his town
in his paintings.

SESSION 1 | What is my mind of ? | Feelings and Emotions
If you look at his paintings closely, you will notice farm animals like goats, the
small buildings from his village and also his wife, who loved dearly!
He was known as the artist who painted his dreams in beautiful bright colours.
Things in his painting are seen floating around or out of shape.
His paintings can teach us a lot about love and staying strong and positive
during difficult times.
