Ellis 1 Lexi Ellis Theater 1310 November 30, 2014 Mrs. Sontag Charlie Brown Christmas The show that I will be talking about in this paper is The Charlie Brown musical. I must say it was the best show i’ve seen at WT by far! It incorporated both acting and singing. These are two different theatrical elements that are important in a play and also very entertaining. I have nothing but good things to say about this musical. The actors seemed very enthused with this show. They definitely put their all into it. For instance, their expressions and body language was very childlike which flowed smoothly because the characters in Charlie Brown are children. I also enjoyed the live band instead of just a recording, as most plays seem to use. The childlike presence made the play seem very informal and personal. Being in the audience I felt like I could really connect with the actors. One of the contributing factors in this was the way the stage and seats were set. Being closer to the stage helped me feel more like I was a part of the play rather than just an audience member. Overall this play was the most enjoyable for me out of all of the plays that I have seen this semester. I feel as if everything was set up well and that all of the actors really put their whole hearts into it. I give it two thumbs up.
