Vision Casting
Date
Vision Casting is an essential activity for
growing ministry networks within a city,
country, or even around the world. There
are all types of people with different
experiences who are responsible for Vision
Casting. This framework will provide the
building blocks to create a successful Vision
Casting meeting.

Introduction
Why Do We Need to Vision Cast?
When you think about Vision Casting for OneHope, what do you
imagine? Maybe you imagine a large fundraising event where OneHope’s
Founder, Bob Hoskins, shares the OneHope story, or a small gathering of
church leaders who are interested in learning more about OneHope. This
framework has been designed to lead you through the three main
questions we want to answer as we Vision Cast for OneHope:
Question 1
Who is OneHope?
Question 2
What Does OneHope Do?
Question 3
How can someone partner with OneHope?
This framework will provide you with information you can use to answer
the question, “Who Is OneHope?” Then it will lead you through a process
that will help you put together the information you will want to share for
the “What Does OneHope Do?” and “How Can Someone Partner with
OneHope?” sections. Get out a pen and put on your “thinking caps” as
you dive into your next steps.

Who Is OneHope?
Present OneHope’s History
This section includes information about OneHope’s history. This
information is great to use in a large or small group setting. If you are in a
large group setting with limited time you may want to summarize this
section and highlight the strongest OneHope programs represented in
that area.
You may teach directly from the content in this section. You can also
access this section’s content in a printable format in your Additional
Resources Dropbox folder. Title: Summary of the OneHope History.
Our Founder Bob Hoskins…
Missionary Bob Hoskins founded OneHope in 1986, but it was many
years before that, when Bob was just seven years old, that he received his
lifelong calling. During a church prayer meeting, little Bobby Hoskins
received a vision that gave him God’s plan for his life. Even though he was
young he emphatically knew God had called him to preach; not just to
children, but to adults. He preached from the pulpit of his church the
following Wednesday! He began travelling, setting up speaking
engagements while being homeschooled. He grew up in the evangelical
field, sharing the gospel of Christ night after night all over the country. The
phenomenon of a child who spoke with the vocabulary and maturity of an
adult attracted large audiences across America.
Ten years later, Bob went to British Guyana as a missionary with $5.68 US
Dollars and a one-way ticket in his pocket. By faith, he preached all over
South America to share the Good News, introducing thousands to Jesus.
Three years later, he returned home with five dollars in his pocket. The
whole trip had cost sixty-eight cents!
3
How OneHope Was Birthed…
Several years later, Bob had another vision. After a time of intensive
prayer, he had a vision of the world’s children suffering a vicious attack
from the devil. They were attacked physically with diseases and abuse.
They were attacked economically with poverty and starvation. They were
attacked psychologically with the violence of war. The terrible scene broke
his heart and left him weeping for the next generation that was being so
horrifically assaulted. He heard the Lord tell him, “You must reach the
world’s children, and you will do it through leaders.” This was really the
beginning of the ministry of OneHope, whose vision is, “God’s Word.
Every Child.”
Our Mission: To affect destiny by providing God’s eternal Word to all the
youth and children of the world.
Vision of OneHope:
o Present God’s Word in the most understandable and relevant
format.
o Collaborate and network with other organizations within the
Kingdom of God.
o Lead followers of Christ in intercessory prayer for the children and
youth of the world.
o Mobilize followers of Christ to present God’s Word personally and
effectively to every child and youth of the world.
o Encourage new believers to enter into fellowship with the local
body of Christ, resulting in a life of discipleship.

OneHope’s Ministry Highlights…
• The ministry was first launched in El Salvador as they distributed a
Book of Hope to every school child in the country.
• It did not take long for the ministry to grow as doors opened in
Russia. In 1990, OneHope was the first to provide legal Gospel
material in post-Soviet Russia.
• As the ministry continued to expand, the need to reach students
who were illiterate resulted in the launch of The GodMan film,
which is now in 78 languages!
• In 2007, OneHope began a multinational research project, the
Spiritual State of the World’s Children, in 44 countries. These
research reports have been a great resource as new outcome-based
programs have been developed in recent years because of some of
the report findings.
• One of our more recent milestones was reaching our billionth child
with God’s Word! A young girl in Asia was a recipient of the Book
of Hope in February of 2014.
• We have reached over 1 billion children and youth, we have
worked in over 145 countries, and we have partnered with over
21,637 churches.
5
OneHope Continues to Move Forward…
OneHope continues to innovate and develop strategic partnerships, as we
look at the most effective ways to reach children and youth with God’s
Word! Our name, OneHope, reflects our desire to present the Living
Word of God in an engaging way to children and youth. Christ is the One
and Only hope for eternity – and when we present Him to the next
generation, lives are transformed!
We have a plan called Vision 2030; it will enable OneHope to reach every
young person in every nation with a relevant Gospel message by the year
2030. We seek to align Kingdom-minded individuals and ministries to
increase effectiveness as we reach the next generation for Christ. In
Christ, we find common ground on which we can lay everything else aside
and co-labor toward our common goal: God’s Word. Every Child. We
are passionate about reaching the lost! That is why we are here today.

What Does OneHope Do?
Active Programs
Think about what programs are active in your region. Choose which
programs are relevant to your region and give a quick introduction of
these programs. It would be great to provide them with books for each
program you present. If time permits, it would also be nice to do a short
demonstration of the programs. A few different demonstration options
for a program could include: sharing a story from the Book of Hope, doing
an activity from the program, or performing a drama or object lesson.
OneHope’s Global Programs
There are many ways to be involved with OneHope! The list of program
descriptions for global programs can be shared with those in attendance
to a Vision Casting meeting. Choose the global programs that are active in
the area for which you are Vision Casting from the list below.
• Hope for Kids: Kids can understand and share the Gospel, too!
Hope for Kids was designed to equip children 8-12 years of age to
understand their faith and develop lifestyles of sharing the Good
News of Jesus with others. This 12-week program allows the kids to
know about the Good News, to grow in their faith and
understanding of who God is, and to go and share the Good News
with someone else. The Hope for Kids Program was developed out
of a partnership between OneHope and Evangelism Explosion.
• Stories of Hope: Stories of Hope’s rich scripture engagement takes
teachers and students on a journey through the Bible for at least 18
months. The program includes 75 lessons and is intended for ages 612. Each lesson contains lesson objectives, a lesson review, a
challenge review, an introductory activity, a Bible story, discussion
questions, a memory verse activity, a life challenge, and life
application. It also contains information about how to encourage
parental involvement, as well as extra resources in review activities,
storytelling activities, memory verse activities, and games.
• 17 Stories: Made up of 16 individual cards, 17 Stories is a unique
tool created by OneHope that uses individual Bible stories, as well
as the metanarrative of the Bible, to reinforce the way each story in
the Bible fits into the larger framework of “God’s Big Story.” The
Bible verses in 17 Stories teach children about God’s love and how
their identities and purposes are rooted in Him. This program is
intended for children ages 6-12.
• The GodMan: The GodMan is a live-action and animated re-telling
of the story of Christ’s life, innovatively sharing God’s Word with
children who cannot read or in places where gospel literature
cannot go. The GodMan is contextualized with live-action ‘wraps’
that bookend the animated story to address the heartfelt needs of
the region. This program is intended for children ages 6-18.
• The Bible App for Kids: This app was developed in partnership with
YouVersion and is currently available in 9 different languages. The
app contains over 30 Bible Stories that communicate the metanarrative of Scripture, as well as fun, touch-activated animations,
narration, and other activities to engage children in God's Word
digitally. Children can click links within the stories that allow them to
answer trivia questions, play games, and learn more about the story
they have just read. The app is free on the App Store, Google Play,
and Amazon. This program is intended for children ages 4-11.
• Hope Collection: A compilation of resources created by OneHope
that we have available for children and youth. Many of the available
resources are different versions of The Book of Hope. Because
OneHope operates in more than 125 countries, the Hope
8
Collection includes products in a variety of languages as well. We
have created the Hope Collection in order to share these products
with others. Many of the resources can be downloaded and used, so
feel free to use them, but please do not charge for them.
We are excited about ways in which others might use the content
on this site, so if you anticipate sharing the resources with more than
100 children or youth, please let us know by emailing us at
library@onehope.net. Access the Hope Collection at
www.library.onehope.net.
Regional and National Programs
Next begin to think of the programs on your list that are specific to
your region or the country in which you are holding a Vision Casting
session. In this section, you will have to do a little work. The next
steps will help you put together the information that will be shared
in your Vision Casting session.
The next 5 steps:
1. Create a list of the active programs in the nation or region in
which you are holding a Vision Casting session.
2. Create Program Descriptions for each of the programs on
your list.
a. Program Descriptions should include:
i. Intended age range in which the program is
designed
ii. Available Resources
iii. Program Outcomes
iv. Length of the program
9
v. Special features that make the program unique
Please Note: The Global Program descriptions can serve as great
examples of what is needed for a good program description.
3. Identify how you can provide a demonstration of the program
in your Vision Casting session.
4. Type up the Program Description and instructions for the
demonstration of the program.
5. To help others who are Vision Casting, you can distribute
Program Descriptions/Instructions to anyone in your Region
that may be teaching a Vision Casting session in the future.

How Can Someone Partner with
OneHope?
Join Us in Reaching the Next Generation
In the work that we do, we have a chance to bear witness to one of the
most powerful tools of evangelism – UNITY!
Believing in the power of unity, OneHope partners with thousands of
churches and organizations around the world so that children and youth
can connect with a Christian community and the local church can disciple
the next generation. We believe that, in order to be an effective
outcome-based ministry, children and youth need long-term spiritual
support.
This is why local church and organizational partnerships that share our
heart for spreading the Gospel are a vital part of OneHope’s work…and
this allows us to build the Kingdom Together!
If someone is considering partnering with OneHope by facilitating a
OneHope program, ask him or her to consider the following questions:
1. Is the ministry you lead or are involved in focused on children and
youth?
2. Are you excited about teaching children and youth about God’s
Word and how it applies to their lives?
3. Is there a program we talked about that you are interested in using
with your group of children or youth?
4. How many children or youth are in your group?
5. When do you think you could start a OneHope program?
Next Steps to Partnering with OneHope
1. Contact a OneHope representative in your country.
2. Identify which program you would like to implement.
3. Attend Training in your area (when possible).
4. Provide a start date.
5. Provide the appropriate number of student books and teacher
books to the partner.
6. Check in with the partner half way through to see how their
program is going or if they have any questions. This is also a good
time for a site visit to see if the teacher is successful in the
classroom.
a. Additional Resource: Teacher Follow-Up Evaluation Form. This
form will assist you in an evaluation of a new OneHope
program teacher.
7. At the conclusion of the program, provide a final report of books
used to the OneHope representative in your country
Please Note: The list of questions for a potential partner and Next Steps
to Partnering with OneHope may vary from country to country. If you are
a Regional Trainer, it is highly recommended that you connect with the
national leadership in-country, ask for an action plan for partnering with
someone new, and ascertain what reporting is required for a new partner.
If you are a national OneHope worker or volunteer please confirm these
processes with your national OneHope leadership.
Are you still not too sure of whom to inquire? You can find out more
information about the OneHope national leadership by emailing:
trainer@onehope.net.

In Conclusion…
Vision Casting is an opportunity to share the work of OneHope with
others. It allows us to provide a wide view of the ministry and what it
offers to a small or large audience. Our programs have been designed to
equip teachers and evangelists within their own context. Summarizing the
programs allows interest to grow in those who attend the session. Finally,
providing a quick and simple way for a new partner to get connected with
the OneHope ministry will improve the chances for immediate program
implementation or other forms of engagement with the OneHope
ministry. Remember, the OneHope mission is: God’s Word. Every Child.
Through Vision Casting, we can make this happen!
