Freberg, L. thought if she can write a book that will successfully combines the challenging student researches in a student-friendly approach for their wide variations of needs and skill. Then, she came up with this second edition that used “how things work” approach. This book is supported with images and discreetly constructed illustrations that are made to teach and grab interest. This also has real-life examples to keep the learners interested in the material. And since this book is published in 2010, it is guaranteed that this is updated and has a timely manner. Carson-Arenas, A. (2004). Introduction to Psychology: Understanding Human Behavior. Rex Bookstore Inc. This book talks about neurological process, sensation, consciousness and its altered states, stress, health, coping mechanisms, etc. that aims to help the learners understand human behavior. Every topic relates to one’s existing knowledge about the lesson, what they understand, and what beliefs, reflection, personality, and emotionally the person has. It is incorporated with various Western and Filipino images and activities to maintain the learner’s enthusiasm encouraging the learner to research more the works given in this textbook. Carson-Arenas, A. came up with this book so that he will be able to share some of his knowledges about psychology. Kail, R. & Cavanaugh, J. (2016). Human Development: A Life Span View, 7th Edition. Cengage Learning Asia Pte Ltd. This book introduces us to the different events and activities that results to who we are. This also explains and identifies how a person change as the time pass by. Also, this has theoretical and empirical findings that helps the students educated, and giving them the chance to critically interpret the developmental information. Based on my understanding, I therefore conclude that sleep has emotional and psychological effects. Kail, R. and Cavanaugh, J. stated that too little sleep can contribute to obesity as they tend to eat more, or too lazy to do exercise. (p.282). The authors also stated that change in pattern of sleep and eating are one of the common signs that a person will commit suicide. (p.322). They also stated that a person dealing with anxiety can cause them to have insomnia (p.302), in which one experiences hard time to fall asleep.
