Famine in the Land
• Famine is mentioned in the scriptures initially in Genesis 12:10,
Abraham had to go to Egypt
• Also with Isaac having to go to Gerar Gen 26:1, 17
• Famine during the time of Jacob Gen 41-45
• During the time of judges Ruth 1
• During the time David as Saul slew the Gibeonites 2 Sam 21:2,5
• During King Ahab 1 Kings 18
School of the prophets
• Their origin 1 Sam 10:5 and 19:20
• Same were present during the time of Elijah
• At Bethel 2 Kings 2:3, At Jericho 2:5, Gilgal 4:38
• Curriculum included the Law of Moses Ezra 7:10 and Music 1 Sam
10:5
• They were to instruct the nation to godliness
• The master normally had direct communication with God

Poisonous vine
