various problems were encountered and solved.
a. Payment collection delayed
Dahlia Boutique Hotel is relatively brand new hotel working in providing value based
hospitality services to the customers. It has been providing wide range of services ranging
from accommodation to adventure activities. However, there is the problem is timely
collection of payment in the company. It may be because company is new and doesn’t have
upper hand in dealing or it may be due to the proper follow up from the company. During the
period the period, the formal and regular follow up is made for timely collection of due
payments through the define follow up and collection schedule.
b. Book keeping
Different variety of works work pressure and limited human resources causing problem in
proper book keeping in the organization. The daily reporting and submission of weekly
report of the work has been not regular and there is lack of book keeping of all the daily
routine works. To solve the problem of book keeping, 15 minutes’ time of the regular work
time has been allocated for book keeping at the end of the each working day, and policy on
regular submission of weekly report has been made strict.

In the company, there has been various works done and the service has been offer to the
customers. There works, work procedure of the company are mainly conducted via electronic
means using digital copy of files and document. In the meantime, there arises the problem of
files management. To systematize the file management system, google drive has been used
and central data storage system has been installed for storage of files of the previous and
ongoing works of the company.
15
d. Systematic procedure in workflow
Formal procedure of work is needed for systematic and effective execution. When there is
increase in customer based, there arises the problem of work flow. To systematize the work
flow procedure, the chain of workflow has been defined which enable the work flow from the
operational level to executive team and back to the customers.

Organizational culture has implication on employee performance and has impact on
organizational effectiveness. During the initial days of the formal operationalization of the
company, there is lack of organizational trend, such as lunch time, tea break, holidays, and
ways of communication, delegation of authority & responsibilities, reporting chain,
organizational working hours, compensation and remuneration and other organizational
matters. From my side, I provide feedback to the executive officer to set the trend and set the
benchmark, there formalization of each and every work starts, which sets the organizational
culture.

Internship is an opportunity to learn the real life work procedure and implement the theoretical
knowledge acquired during the academic period into the real life work settings. During the
internship period, I worked in different departments of the company, and get exposure of how
organization actually works while performing different assigned works.
The company provides services on hospitality sectors based on their guest requirement in the

4.2 Feedback to the Organization
As an intern in Dahlia Boutique Hotel for 10 weeks, I get an opportunity to learn marketing
practices of Nepalese tourism & hospitality organizations and the trend of marketing in Nepalese
context. The professional people of the organization and having worked with them enable to get
the insight of marketing practices and shift of marketing and communication means towards
social media.
As an intern via the observation during 10 weeks of intern, I would like to make following
recommendation to company which may prove to be fruitful in improving its performance in
forth coming days:

The company needs to have the system that will facilitate the work setting of interns and
the work of interns needs to be specific instead of involving interns in overall works of
the organizations.

Company need to be guided by strategic framework while providing various services
related to marketing.
19

Dahlia Boutique Hotel need to hire some qualified workforce to strengthen its technical
aspects of services.

Customer satisfaction and healthy relation with them should be given first priority

Periodic training and development program needs to be organized for development of
staffs to make them able to cope up with competitive environment.
4.3 Feedback to the College/University
Internship is requirement for partial fulfillment of MBA degree proves to be fruitful for students,
as it provides practical exposure to the corporate world and real life work setting.

The internship program at 4th semester of MBA program after completion of all the
course works proves to be beneficial as the intern student can get opportunity to be hired
and work in the organization.

The college needs to take feedback on regular basis from the organization where the
student was placed for intern to ensure that the students are progressing and learning.

Positioning of the college in market is not adequate so proper marketing program should
be conducted in order to foster appropriate image in the market thereby enhancing
students’ image.

Both the college and university should focus on making internship program more
systematic to ensure that students have achieved some valuable skills which would be
quite fruitful in their professional life.

Systematic procedure need to be developed for proper monitoring and supervision of
interns and their progress measurement.

Prior to the intern it is necessary to provides orientation program on internship program,
about corporate culture, organizational work system to familiarize students with the
internship program, its objectives and working procedure in corporate setting.
