Roman Citizen Journal by Nathan Robinett, Today I will be telling a realistic fictional story about a daily life of a roman citizen that I named Marcus about how life is being as a roman citizen, Daily life, in Ancient Rome 753 BC to 476 AD, Marcus would often begin with a light breakfast with bread and water (or wine) would be served at home, or a wheat pancake could have been purchased on the way to work or school. Sometimes meat, fish, fruit, and other items may have been served, but not each day. After breakfast Marcus would go to work as a Craftsman in the city of Rome to help build weapons like swords, shields and armor for the Roman empire army and gladiators. His work was a small shop in downtown Rome where he worked with his four friends Ryan, Colten, Ramen and Cayden to make weapons. After Marcus would get off work he would go home to his family Lucas, who is Marcus' son and to his wife Jenny, and they would all make a big feast with meat, bread and water and with chicken for dinner. Then Marcus and his family would all help clean up the dinner table and dishes and then prepare for bed. Did you know that Romans have clean teeth even without brushing their teeth because of their low sugar diets. Marcus and his family would sleep on beds made out of wood that were decorated with shells, ivory, gold, silver or bronze. Similarly to the Egyptian beds, Roman beds were raised off the ground – often needing steps to gain access.
